I recently noticed when the car is cold (like been turn off for a few hours or over night) the interior light does not stay on even if the doors are still open
The interior light would switch off after like 10 seconds, if I close the door and open it again, the light would come back on for like another 10 seconds then shut off again..

However, if the car is hot, like after you just turn off the engine, then the light would stay on as long as the door is open

Both tests were done with keys removed from ignition

I am not sure if it is normal or if something is wrong with my electrical wiring..

Can the following 08-11 w204 C300/C350 owners help check if your interior lights stay on when door open?

I'm not the expert, but I believe this is part of battery management system. When it's cold and battery remaining charge is low, the lights will turn off sooner so you have enough power for the next start.

I checked my cold car, not driven for the entire day or two. If I leave the driver side door open, no key in the ignition, the front and rear dome lights are on and will not turn off. However, the meter light will turn on then off in like 30 seconds.

If I close the door, meter lght will come on again and stay for another 30 seconds then off.

I believe the other three doors will do the same, except other doors will not turn the meter light on/off.
