W204 1997 C280 How do I remove lower right side dash cover/cover/trim?

I need to remove the lower dash cover on the driver's side under the steering column. I've unfastened everything that I can see to unfasten but it's still stuck fast at the upper part to the right of the steering wheel. There's a hole going up through the padded cover at that point so I'm assuming some tool has to be inserted there to remove the panel at that point. I can't locate a screw using a Phillips screw driver.

I have a book that covers several years, but the illustration shows a different panel, so probably a different year.

I finally discovered that it was held by an 8mm bolt that was easily removed once I found the correct socket.
