check the display menu, daytime lights should be turned off if you don't want the headlights on all the time

if the conditions are dark enough, your headlights will turn on while in Auto. If it's completely sunny and they still turn on, the light sensor is probably having issues/dirty

I had my lights reprogrammed to turn off everything including day time running lights when it is at the "O" position then when at "A" everything is automatic BUT DRL is still off. My car is a canadian version that drls are always on no matter what and the xenons are marking the lens so after dealer replaced the headlights I ask them to turn the damn drls off as the light sensor on the car is so sensitive that slight dim of the sun will turn on the headlamps.
