coding

so when I had my previous car, e92, I had it coded to where I can roll down or up my windows, take off the annoying seat belt chime reminder, navigation/DVD while in motion, etc. is there someone or a shop who can do that for my 2012 w204?

not true i can code Mercedes just like bmw. and you can roll up window just point the remote while holding on to lock to your driver door handle and it will go up.
for all the other option you need software and cable to code.

this is a guy who is reputable at e90post.com who coded lots of bmws and even is an authorized vendor. where are u located at? or point me on how or who can do it in Socal in LA. I'm shocked for him to even be as specific as MB is not an "open source" platform. he could be just hating then... but I need proof first before I text him back

So the window issue is solved as another member already stated how to do it. I don't mean to sound rude your an adult and can do what you want but, wear your seat belt lol it might just save your life one day and the chime won't go off.

Video in motion can be done at least thats what the audio specialist told me (once i plan on getting the navi set up I'll be getting this done) He actually owned a w204 in the past and said he knows how to do it with out telling me how, so I'm just going off his word.

it can all be done but the struggle is real when trying to find someone who does coding for mercedes. It's extremely complicated but I'm sure some of the big wig companies who do coding stuff for the AMG's can easily do this but at AMG prices.

A fellow member I was talking to about some coding actual contacted RennTech they said they can do coding on his C250 but at there AMG price range regardless of him having a C250.(so $1000+)

find some one with star Diagnostics & Vediamo/coding/DAS ect... experience. there are people out there but its a search, and thats the struggle!

thanks man! but it's just weird him being a pro at coding and telling me it can't be done with Benz then you telling me it's possible. but $1k tho? wow! I paid home like 100 bucks to code everything! lol. and as far as the seat belt, I wear them but cases like I'm on a conference call and parking in my complex sucks.

I think its just less common with the Benz and its 1000 times more complicated hahaha, when another member fixed the throttle response issue on my car, its all in german and hard to understand you literally need to know your stuff and play around with it a little. It's defiantly not for the faint of heart.

Coding in my W203 was not difficult. It was done by Trey here on the forums when we met up, but we are friends outside of this forum so I did not pay. I don't think it is complicated, it is just a matter of finding someone with the equipment and know-how.

I'm interested to know what can be coded on the W204.

I've been on a quest to find someone that can do it. I have a 100% confirmed tuner shop that can do what I want but their charge is $1000. I'm in talks with another shop that thinks they can for $200. But for $1000 you can get your own equipment.

I wouldn't mind paying $200 but never $1k. let us know what happened if you ever get it done.
I'm not sure how different w203 from w204 but ask your friend to give it a shot and lets us know. like I said, the coding I'm looking for it more of convenience features and not tuning it or something. the windows down while pressing the remote is a huge help when it's hot and I want the car to cool down before I get in.

The W204 is already capable of rolling windows down with the remote.

found this video on YouTube and this guy made it seem like it's just there. but I think USA mandated that options to not be turned on because of safety reasons. this is what was explained to me before.

Ya it threw me off at first but now that i think of it, i changed my battery in my remote shortly after learning this feature and it works from pretty far ever since i did that. That could be the issue for you hahaha.

Yeah, it's stupid. They put considerable engineering into this to make sure it only works a few inches away from the handle. By the time it's down I've wasted that time I could have gotten the AC running and still have the windows down.

I could put the windows down and open the sunroof on my VW from inside the house. Living in Florida I loved that feature. I'm sure Mercedes has their reasons but I never came to harm doing it at a distance with my VW.

Some cars can have the recir button coded to close all the windows and sunroof.

Mine can be rolled down from a distance.

IIRC it is two different signals for up vs down. It's the standard keyless entry signal to roll them down, but IR signal to roll them up - meaning you have to be close to the car to roll them up, likely as a safety precaution.

I'll try mine later to confirm but pretty sure that's how it worked on my W203 and W211

I just tried mine, I can be about 10 feet away opening the windows as long as I can see the drivers side door handle. But the weird thing is when I close it, It only does it at about 6 feet or closer.

I tried with both my keys and ended up with the same results.

The one thing i wish about this feature was to disable the sunroof from opening, i rarely use the sunroof but drive with the windows down 80% of the time.

It is convent though I felt the blistering heat escape the car as i came closer, it hasn't been used opened all day.

With the pano roof, by the time the roller blinds get open the windows are already down so the roof stays closed.

lol this is funny. I do wear my seat belt at all times. anyways, mine did worked but only when I'm on the driver side and pointing at the door handle. it's pretty useless because if I park parallel on the side of my house, then I'm always facing the passengers side which doesn't work. if i have to walk around my car to use the "windows down" option, I might as well unlock and turn my AC on.
