2008 C300 Sport - What if I put the same size tires all around instead of staggered?
Live in Southern California, where I don't get snow, ice, or much weather of any sort.
I'm curious to know if I had all 4 tires replaced to the same size (currently, I have the 2008 C300 Sport stock staggered fit of Front tires: 225/45r17 and Rear tires:245/40r17), what would happen? Any alignment problems, axle issues, etc that could arise?
Has anyone else tried this?
If it is possible to do without harming the vehicle, what size should I get?
Really appreciate any and all input on this.

Well, I went ahead and mounted the same size tire that I have on the front on the backs. I'll let you all know how it goes. Handling is fine, so far.

I have Michelin 205/55/16 & the ride is pliant , I rotate every 10,000 km & get about 50,000 km out of a set.
Great to see more owners not accepting the hype, advertising , fashion & impracticality of the staggered set up.

I did 225/45r17 on all 4 tires. Bought the tires off of Amazon (Milestar) - good so far. Since the rims are a different width on the back, I'm unable to actually get the tires rotated. In order to change the tires front-to-back, the tires have to be removed from the wheels.
Will post results of this when I have to replace them.

A few months in, and all is good. Rides smooth on the California highways (as smooth as they can be, ha!), and I don't really notice a difference. I was at a "America's Tire" store and the guy said something like, "You may want to take those back to wherever you got those from." Gotta love salesmen.
