2012 and newer c300 engines?
When buying a used 2012 or newer c300 , is there any way to tell by looking at it, to tell if you have the 3.5 litre 302hp or the 248hp? thanks

Open the hood.

If you're referring to only the facelift, both the C350 (302hp) and C300 (248hp) use the same engine. The c300 is just down tuned.

I'm referring to the two 3.5 engines (detuned 248hp and 302hp). I'm referring to the direct injection engines . Is there a way to tell by looking at it . Vin? Obd2?

I've seen some c300 here come with the optional 302hp engine

That, I do not know. In the US all C300's should be 248. What country are you in?

By "all" you mean from 2013 going forward because the C300 from 2008 to 2012 (4MATIC) had the M272 engine which is 229 HP.

2011 C300 Sport, P1, MM, Wood, Heated FS, DIY rearview camera.
Starting 201?, C300 is a turbo 4, so the model number does not relate to engine size any more.

What optional 302HP engine? If it is the 2013 or newer C300 W204 it has the 3.5 liter 248HP engine. If it is the C350 then that same 3.5 liter engine puts out 302HP. There wasn't like some option package on the C300 W204 that increased the horsepower by over 50. Like what was said, same engine, just a deturned version of it.

From your profile it looks like you are in Canada, if there IS something to the 248/302 horsepower C300, please post a link or something in regards to it, as I have never heard of that.

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 is powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder that produces 201 hp and 229 pound-feet of torque. ...The all-wheel-drive C300 4Matic is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 248 hp and 251 lb-ft of torque. According to Mercedes, it can sprint to 60 mph in just 6.0 seconds. Fuel economy estimates are also impressive at 20/28/23.Under the hood of the C350 is a 3.5-liter V6 good for 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
