c-180
Hi, has anyone ordered and/or drives C-180? Its 1.6 turbo (petrol, not diesel) and produces 156 HP. Here, I only see 400s and a bit less. I needed something that doesn't use much fuel (it's expensive here). Please share some experiences. I test-drove it and liked it.

ordered a w205 c180 amg line wirthout test drive. over here in sg, at launch top of line is c250 with a 2.0 petrol
had a w204 c200 petrol, so judging from reviews... should be an upgrade over the previous model which wasnt that shoddy.
petrol aint cheap here too.... but we probably are paying the most for cars here in sg though.

I have the C-180. A great engine, but not so economical as advertised. Must be because of 18" rims, a lot of driving in the city, and the fact that i always drive it in "Comfort"...

Expensive, but probably not as bad as here in Denmark. socialist heaven where everyone is jealous of everyone else, and where more then half the population is on some type of state funded welfare.
Our S205 C200 petrol (albeit with a lot of options, but definitely not fully loaded)
costs the equivalent of 169.000 USD

It's prob abt the same prices here given how cars are taxed...

Megaoctane, mine will be regular 16 inches - maybe that will help with mileage. I feel lucky to have paid the price I did now. Although it's probably more than our USA colleagues are paying Never knew Denmark was sooo expensive!

The tax here is 180% luxury tax on top of the dealers price of the car, after he added his own profit margin (mimumum margin of 9% is added, even if the dealer sells at 5% margin, they still add 9% irregardless)
Then they add another 25%sales tax of this sum total, so they add tax to a tax..
They even tax safety options which are proven to save lives.
Insane system, and proven to be financially bad for the country, costing jobs, lack of sales etc. Sweden our neighov has no luxuty tax, just the same 25% sames tax, and this system is good for the country.
But still this system will never change here, because the Danes are insanely jealous of anyone having th nerve to have more then they do.
Sory for the rant, but having to fork out all that money, when it doesn't even help the country, really makes ones blood boil.

Dont forget that this system also benefits the use of illegally registered vehicles, wich in turn have created the need for an entire authority (SKAT) with the sole purpose to regulate these vehicles an others.

So true.. and by taxing everthing, and a taxing it lot more then any of the neighboring counties, and with the open borders, you create an enviroment where harmelss commodities becomes Illigal. T
Then you can employ unlimited Tax men to regulate it.
They added a huge Sugar and fat tax recently. Now we have lots of Tax Men running around on the tax payers dollar, invading small hole-in-the-wall-kiosks, looking for illegal Gummy Bears, and Soft drinks.
Disgraceful is the best word..

I doubt i will go over 17" on our C200 petrol, winter or summer. The added inertia of big wheels adversely affects acceleration on (relative) low torque engines such as the C180 and C200 petrol. Diesels or engines with more torque is of course less affected. Large wheels obviously adversely affects decelleration on any car.
I like the 20 spoke Exclusive package wheels so much, that I am considering a 2nd set for winter.

Buying a new car every 5 years, you'll be ahead just with the savings on health insurance and retirement savings alone.

holy smokes! $150k for a c class?
dang, driving a c class in your countries must be for real ballers.
Any joe shmuck can drive a c, e, cls class here in the US. my c300 almost fully loaded came out $53k, and after discounts ended up 47k. and i have a decent job, nothing out of the ordinary, just average salary.
but yes, like sequins pointed out, we pay it back in health insurance, education (crazy expensive here in the US), and the fact that i paid almost $30k in taxes alone for 2015. on top of that the US government made me pay another $3k when i filed my taxes. really stinks to be single in the US.
