Replacement Cost for 19" AMG Wheel
Hello All,
Just learned that a pothole took out a 19" AMG on my C400. The dealer wants $1,100 for the wheel (and about $550 for a tire I can get on Tire Rack for about $352). And, the wheel has to be ordered from the Fatherland! These were a $500 upgrade for 4, and, FWIW, I don't recommend them in LA despite their looks. Too many potholes, and the ride is a crashy with the runflats. For those with 19s, be careful out there!

that seems like a lot....
i managed to do something like this to all 4 of my bmw rims (unlit street, random concrete bar in middle of street....) and it was only $1900 for 4 oem rims. i would bet there are cheaper places.

Do you know the actual model code for the wheel in question?
I found some after-market wheels that appear the same, not sure on the offsets etc though;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/26185...f14=108&ff19=0
Granted these are UK so they must also be available in the US etc.

MB W204, VW Polo, Audi R8 V10 - SOLD.
I would suggest you put a thread up saying you are interested in these wheels. Someone who has gone for some aftermarket shoes may be able to cut you a deal.

Thanks for the responses
I don't want to buy a non-oem replacement on a 3,000 mile car. Also, I think all the C400s in the US come with runflats and no spare...
Good idea about looking into whether the rim can be repaired. I must say the dealer has been sort of reasonable, charging full price for the rim, but offering a free new tire and detail. Just thought I'd warn those with 19 inch wheels to look out!
I'm driving a C300 loaner with 18s and (a) its a very nice car, with plenty of go (though far less than than the turbo 6 in the 400), and (b) the 18s' ride is perhaps more suitable for the crummy streets around here.

All said they are not bad, when I had rf on my CLA they were so noisy I changed them to non-run flat, night/day, these ones are quiet for being rf.
