Your car is stock suspension?
If you really wanted to pull the front wheel off and put another jack or jackstand under the control arm then lower the car down till the shock fully compresses

Back when I had more time on my hands, ie. before wife and child, I would have done this for you in a heartbeat. But not so much free time now, lol.
That said, I should be having my new wheels on the car late next week when my mechanic buddy will have time to mount the tires. At that stage, I should be able to help, as then I can kill two birds with one stone.

Ok, I stare down now as I type at my dirty hands only to deliver bad news. Near impossible but was able to stick my fingers into the area you reference in the beginning of this post. I was able to push the boot up just a bit with what little strength I had at those angles. I felt like it was only like thickness of my finger. So I mic'd my finger after and it is about 15mm. The gap may be more, but that is about as close as I could get. I have a 2005 C55 that is totally stock.

The factory suspension has a certain amount of bump travel, well when you lower your car the bump travel changes at any given height, so if you know the factory bump travel you can adjust bumpstop length accordingly regardless at what height and suspension brand

Article geared towards BMW but concept is the same. Never thought about that since I've been considering a different suspension setup but now I know
