Headlight question...
Herro everyone! New to the forums and picked up my '05 C55 yesterday. Happy as hell with it. Anywho, It came with the halogen/reflected headlights and I've been spoiled by projectors for a while. From all my searching online, it seems that the C55 shares the same front end with the w209. As such, a headlight meant for the w209 should bolt up just right to a C55, correct? Has anyone successfully done this? Thanks in advance!

Correct, you have to buy the w209 headlights. The w203 headlights will not work.
Driver side - 209-820-41-61
Passenger side - 209-820-42-61
Welcome to the forum. In order to not get too flamed on the forums (and since I'm a nice guy ), please use search before posting new threads. Most of these topics have been discussed several times and will be easy to find. Not trying to be an a$$hole in any way, just giving you a heads up b/c some other members aren't so nice about it.
In any case, if you're going to buy the OEM, let it be noted it's super expensive (roughly $950-1000 PER headlight), so you're basically looking at $2k or so. You can try finding a set of used ones somewhere but you'll be lucky to find a set for $1k.
I got these aftermarket ones and they're pretty nice and they look good and only $520:

I wanted the black housing but they also have chrome housing if you want that too, as well as options without the halos that are $460.

Hey Mulac, thanks for the reply and the friendliness! I did a lot of searching here on the forums/online, just wanted to be completely sure and see if someone had actual experience in using a w209 headlight on a C55.
I saw the ones you mentioned and, while they do look nice, I was looking for something more subtle. I do appreciate the non-flameage!

No problem
Try these maybe: http://www.protuninglab.com/03mebeclkclw1.html
Only real difference from stock is that LED strip.

I ended up getting these:

I inspected every damn detail of this headlight and a stock C55 halogen unit, looks like it'll fit just fine. I'll post my results once I get them in.

Thanks, Ghia! Previous owner put K&Ns and Kleemann headers on it, so I'm a happy camper. Ordered the headlights mentioned above, ashtray delete, clear side markers, and a few CAN-BUS compatible LEDs. Appointment on Monday to get the resonator deleted, and a head unit + laser interceptor when I get my hands on some more cash.

congrats! I just finished installing a set of the headlamps you bought - they look nice BUT be careful and verify you install them that ALL the pins on each headlamp is fully extended as I had this issue and didn't realize it until they were already in with bumper back in and all and they wouldn't work - also, although these are "error'cancelling" ballasts they still seem to throw codes a couple times a day especially since I keep my headlamps on "auto" and everytime I pull into my garage it attemps to turn on and shut off and somehow gets hung up -- I might switch out the bulbs and ballasts for a set fro TRS - I'm think these may need can-buses ... best of luck - make sure to post before/after pics!

Thanks! And thanks for the advice as well! Did the install today - took roughly 3 hours, including drilling holes on the bottom of the housing to pass the HID cables to the ballast. Luckily, the HID system I have was installed by the dealer who sold me the car (they specialize in German cars, even more so on Mercedes) and the kit they provided was CAN-BUS compatible. My stupid, POS cell phone decided to quit working today, so I couldn't take pics =/ but I'll take some tomorrow and post them. Really happy with the way the housings look and just took the car out to do some level adjusting. Thanks to rlee02135 for his w209 headlight install write-up! Helped a ton!

Is there a way to adjust the height of the high beams on these housings? I was leveling them last night and, when I went to test out the highs, noticed that the driver's side is projecting WAY higher than the passenger's.
