AC compressor pulley replacement
Hi All
I would like to know if someone here has tried to "replace" the Pulley on the AC on there 55 before.
I bought a new pulley at the dealer (See picture) and did a bit of DIY, however I did run into a small problem.
I got the sir clip out and unscrewed the funny three hole force transmitting plate off and got the snap ring out. Now this is where I am stuck, in WIS they just say "remove pulley and replace with new one". It would seem that it is a press fit and I don't see in WIS what tool to "make" or order. It would be easy to use a bearing puller when it is on the bench, but WIS states it clearly that you don't have to remove it from the engine.
Is there a special "flat" bearing puller that i should use?
Hope you can help.

Design4111,
Can you tell me how you were able to unscrew the 3-holed plate?

I made a special tool to unscrew the plate (see picture). However, my dealer gave me a good deal on a new AC compressor so I replace the whole unit. Dealer also gave a 2 year warranty, so if things go wrong.
What I found was that the bearing inside the AC unit was going bad and the oil seal.
Furthermore, to get the pulley out you need a special "pulley puller" (see picture).
Sorry I cannot be of any help,
