C32 intake.

C32 intake.
I'm new to the Mercedes world. And I've been doing a lot of research on my recently acquired c32 AMG. I see a lot of dual cold air intakes like factory. Is there a reason it can't be consolidated into a single intake? Way I see it is that it gets necked down to 3" at the throttle body no matter what. So get rid of the turbulence of the two pipes connecting and keep it straight flowing with a single pipe. Bad idea? What's everyone's thoughts?

I think this comes down to surface area of the air filters. There are 2 pretty big filters on the dual intakes, even bigger on the V8 Kompressor. If you could get an equal surface area, you might have something to improve.
My opinion is there are better gains to be found elsewhere, like a smaller SC pulley.

People have seen gains on the w208 with the 320 air intake set up (single tube) even on the V8s. It was dyno proven. Dont know how it would fair on the SC car though.

I plan on going with a smaller pulley too. But I have access to high quality parts to build my own intake... not autozone special. I'm going through a composites program and it'll be carbon fiber. Just curious if there's a problem with a single tube for the supercharged motor.
