Ah, but now they are all collated in one place!
And try as I might, I could not subscribe, being Canadian. Even with my US shipping address attached to my credit card, it wouldn't let me do it. Thanks to a friend though, I have an account now.

The above post makes me with I had W210 mirrors on my C43... Any DIY's on that job? Do they just hook right up or do you have to splice?

One of my cluster bulbs burned out and I am crazy about that kind of stuff so I called the dealership and they quoted me $150 to change out the BULB (not plural they would change out the single burnt out bulb). I decided to see how hard it was to pull the cluster and replace the bulb, for $150 I am thinking like 2 - 2.5 hours of work + the price of the bulbs. I watch the how to video from this thread and it has them pulling the steering wheel and then using some tool to pull the cluster, it looked like you might be able to do it without pulling the steering wheel so I searched the net and found some threads that confirmed what I was thinking but none of the posts had an in depth how to that would of made this a lot easier (even though it is already REAL easy) but with better pics you could literally pull the cluster in 5 minutes your first time. I decided to post this so everyone could have a better understanding of how to pull the cluster:
Step 1
(Making the tools)
1.) Start with an ordinary wire coat hanger
2.) Cut the ends off so you have to straight pieces of wire hanger
3.) Measure 5mm from the end and make a 90° bend in the piece of wire hanger
4.) Wrap the opposite end of the wire hanger around a pen or wooden dowel (this is end that doesn't have the 90° bend)
Now your tools are ready on to Step 2

STEP 2
1.) Pull your steering wheel out as far as it will go. Insert the hooks along the side of the cluster about 1 - 1.5" above where the cluster meets the dash (Hooks need to be facing up towards the sky) and push them back about 1.5 - 2", twist them so that the 90° bends are facing each other and pull towards you.
2.) Before you can pull the cluster out you must remove two connectors from the rear of the cluster. 1 is on the left side of the cluster and 1 is on the right side both are about 3/4 of the way towards the top of the cluster. Both of these connectors have the same type of locking mechanism like the ones on the back of your radio and climate control unit. You have to depress a small tab and then slide the gray lever down then pull the connector away from the rear of the cluster. (I found it easier to pull the left connector (the one closest to the drivers door) first then the right side.
3.) You will need to tilt the cluster and pull down to get it out from behind the steering wheel
4.) The cluster is now out. Turn it over and you will see 25 small bulbs that are insterted in the rear of the cluster. You can remove the bulbs using a 1/4" (or 8mm) socket or a pair of needle nose pliers will work as well.

did you get any scratchmarks on the sides of the panel where you put the hangers to pull out the cluster?
plastic might be kinda sensitive when it comes to scratches from hooks scuffing the plastics?
did your cluster come out easy or was it tight and you had to use brute force to pull it out?
now when it's out change all your bulbs in one swap!
you'll have all new bulb set on your cluster

Step 3
1.) Use the socket or needle nose pliers to remove the burnt out bulbs and replace them with new bulbs.
2.) On the back of the cluster there are some symbols that show you which bulb you are replacing but for some reason not all of the bulbs have symbols. Here is a PDF that has a diagram with listing for each bulb. All of the bulbs are the same type (12V 1.5W) and they are EXPENSIVE from the dealership ($8 a piece in my neck of the woods)
Removing and installing bulbs in instrument cluster - CLK 208.pdf
3.) Installation is the reverse except again I found it easier to reconnect the left side connector in the rear of the cluster before I reconnected the right side.
4.) Once you have the connectors FULLY connected push the cluster back into the dash (be sure to push on the edges of the cluster so you do not break the glass.) Make sure the connectors are FULLY connected before starting the vehicle or you will get an error and a bunch of lights will come on (i.e CEL, BAS, SRS)
So in summary if the dealership was going to replace all of the bulbs then the $150 would be worth it but since they are only going to replace the burnt out bulbs you are looking at a 15-20 minute job + $8 per bulb. I hope this helps anyone out there who needs to replace a bulb in their cluster.
