How on earth did you find it, if I may ask? I've cruised the local craigslist for years for a C36 just out of curiosity, hoping one would pop up with the infamous "needs head gasket and wiring harness replaced" so I could pick it up dirt cheap. Have never, ever seen one around here, let alone for sale. Have lived here since 2002!

I have seen close to a dozen real C43's. They were all silver or black with badges and the body kit and Monoblocks, although one had aftermarket wheels. The stock ones could be other daily drivers I have just seen multiple times. I have seen one C36 AMG for sure, they other two I did not see badges but the wheels were right. Could have been an older C280 Sport with 15" Monos.
Anyone here have any bigger, badder AMG's? C63? CL65? I really want a CL65

They are both. A mechanical metal cable from the pedal goes to the throttle position sensor under the hood (driver's side in US cars) and mechanically turns a potentiometer on the sensor which then communicates with the electronic throttle body. It's classic mechanical from pedal to TPS, and drive by wire from the TPS onward.
