that is how much i paid, but keep in mind it was under collision insurance coverage, so the insurance company fronted the bill and pretty much all of the parts were OEM and full price.

i think my original estimate of $4000 for your situation still holds up. possibly less, but as i said before labor charges are what they are so your not gonna save much there, but parts you should be able to save quite a bit.

So i would again say if you arent willing to take some time and pay 4 grand (possibly less but i wouldn't get too optimistic here, thats just good general financial advice) to get it back to what it was then sell it.
If you dont just have money lying around your biggest hurdle may just be to get a shop that will work with you on making weekly payments, or willing to start the work once you save enough money to put 25% down if thats all you have for now or something like that.

From your posts i think what i just mentioned above may be your biggest issue. Everyone wants you to save the car but if you only have $400 to spare in your bank account right now that kinda changes things... i know i have been there

if my basic math is correct their labor rate is $92/hr, which is not crazy, good shops here in west Michigan charge around 85-95/hour, so the question is do those repairs really require 30+ hours?

I will try and find my detailed quote papers in the next couple days and see how many hours i was billed for.
