Delivery delayed
My AMG 63 was schedulded for the end of may first. I ordered the car in february.
Today morning i got the Information from my dealer that it is planned for mid September.
The reason is the big demand for this new AMG 4 litre engine, therefore they cannot deliver the necessary quantities.
I dont know if this is the case in other markets too, but in Switzerland it is the reality.

I'm still waiting for the C63S Coupe, so I've got an even longer wait.

JP: Any chance we'll see anything like this in the US? If its truly a "demand" issue with the engine, I suspect it impacts us all.....no?

Dumb question, but I don't think these vehicles are all "sold" out. In fact, my dealer has a couple of spots waiting. So, how can they really have delays and run out of the rims that we all wanted? I mean, didn't they anticipate a couple thousand in sales the first few months. It isn't too off of what they could have predicted and it isn't like they are selling like hot cakes. It's bad planning if you ask me on MB part.

2015 C63S
Today i went to my dealer, the salesman gave me the price of the car which is $81,700.00 (C63S with added options, obviously) and told me the car should be delivered mid-end of May. Hopefully it will be before i leave to visit my country on the 21st.

No no i put my order on December 11, 2014, im not that lucky ! He told me this month they did not receive any allocations, so anyone who wants to order now has to wait quite a long time to get it.

Being also from Switzerland, I ordered mine (C63S Sedan)beg of December 2015 after harassing tons of local Mercs dealers for a rapid delivery. I am a complete freak when it comes to get my new baby home (:
I have tried all the tips from the book, from AMG's people I do know from Germany to local network and so on. I can assure you that no one could have tried harder.
However, the rule is simple: it's a minimum wait of 4-6 months as AMG's headquarter do assign a certain number of ordered vehicule per dealer for their own fleet when it comes to the Swiss marketplace.
Why am I saying that ? Cause all empty slots for a May-June delivery for Swiss Mercs dealers have been already filled out weeks and weeks ago. Once delivery lists are full, next bunch/orders would be done not before another 4-6 months and so on so forth.
Long story short, your dealer did lie to get your order in while promising a technically&logistically impossible date of delivery. I have tried, back then, both Swiss-French and Swiss-German areas through all of Swiss official dealers. Trust me I know how it works.
I replied to your post cause I cannot stand the crook's behavior some of those have. Lying on date of deliveries to get your order in and their commission drives me nuts. If id be you id go back there, face the dude to his fake promises and ask for extra goodies on your build as a commercial gesture. Good luck mate.
Mine is supposed to come end of march-beg of april.

and then ill shut it, promised, but the reality is that your dealer wasnt fully transparent and honest with u, nothing to do with Swiss market or AMG not able to cope with dealers' orders (:

Of course different dealers have different allocations based on their past sales of AMG autos/Whether they are a AMG Performance shop/How many they will commit for and mainly how large they are.
The first thing to do when going in to order as AMG is ask your sales man if they currently have any allocations open for the vehicle you want and what the dates are? If they do and you come to terms they can tell you the exact date production will start. (unless a part shortage or the like occurs) They will put it in the system and give you a order copy after it is accepted. If they don't have an allocation they can put you down on wait list fro the next allocation and give you a approximant. date. If you don't have a confirmed order and date a dealer can just put you off if they have a chance to sell one at higher price and your order will slip and they just say its a production slip.
Unless you really trust them it is not a order until they have an allocation assigned to your order.
