2009 C63 with Eurocharged tune and charcoal delete
So with all the recent announcements from Mercedes it's becoming pretty clear what the future C63 will become. The regular C63 (probably in both sedan and couple versions) will get the 4.7TT and the C63 Black (coupe only I bet) will get the 5.5TT. Makes perfect sense as both Benz, BMW, Audi, etc. all move toward smaller displacement FI engines to meet the future mileage/emmissions regulations. 2012 and 2013 or thereabouts. I love the 6.2NA engine and I plan on keeping my car for quite a while, but I'm sure the new cars will be wonderful as well. Bring it on.

I really, really hope this is wrong. I mean, a turbo motor in a Black Series is utter BULL*****. If the Black Series is supposed to be a race track weapon, then it needs to be a N.A. motor. No thanks - I'll keep my REAL 63.

Really????
Seems like a little bit of a retarded statement.....you write like an SL65 Bllack never existed....imagine if it had the 7 speed dual clutch....
I'll take twin blowers anyday

Turbos aren't as linear or responsive as NA engines - at least they haven't been in the past. Look at the GT3 vs. GT2. Both great cars, but which one do you see at the track and which one do you see in the doctor's driveway?
But you're right, they have had a turbo BS in the past. I didn't ignore it. I think the turbo motor in the SL is bull*****. Its a great engine, but the BS is not the right application. The SL65 is a great car (give me one, I'll take it), but it's not lauded as a great track car. My opinion is, if MB wants the Black Series to be a proper track car, then they need to use a NA motor. But maybe they don't want it to be a great track car.

But personally, I'd love to see a true track oriented car; containing the bare minimum of course. Race seats, carbon fiber panels, race spec dash, the whole nine yards.. Similar to the SLS GT3... hell, even throw in the Balsa wood gas pedal!!
Edit; Callmiro, that SL is god-like. Any chance you know where to find a gallery of it? Perhaps someone on the forum owns it?

That is most likely due to the fact that it originally was a CLK63BS... with a bit of **** poor work on photoshop by some kid, you end up with what you see ...

Hopefully the BLACK C will look way more aggressive than these weak renderings....More like the wide and fat AutoProject-D car but more polished...

I think like it or not FI is here to stay, I would hazard a guess that if FI were not banned in motor sports like F1 and such it would be used as well. Yes some purists feel NA is the best I for one will keep a 156 powered C in my garage for as long as I can afford to keep one. Along with the other iconic (atleast in my mind) cars I have managed to keep thru the years.

Didn't you just say in another thread that you can barely handle a 996 GT3 on the street and have "seen you life flash before your eyes" ?? I'd suggest some driving classes then because the BS is in a totally different league and you most likely will end up dead if you're already having trouble handling a 996 GT3...those things have no power when compared to the BS. Just my honest opinion based on your previous comments.

I am looking at a BS because they are cheap and I was thinking of totally stripping it to compete on the track, but it might not happen because they are too heavy.
