New-to-me C63 sitting in my garage!
Sold my 911S PDK last Tues, and 7 days later I have my 2009 C63 :-)
I bought it from a forum member here. Car is in excellent condition, loaded w/ P30 AMG Development Package etc.
Thanks to everyone on the forum here for being so helpful! I've lurked through about 50,000 threads in the past few weeks.

Great car the one that you had 911 S (probably the 997.5) . I don't know what made you change the Porsche or the C63 although they are very similar cars in performance, braking, acceleration(better corneing on the porsche though). I can only think of you doing a sacrifice nf have a more family oriented car.

Congrats on the car. I also sold my 997S for the C.
I would like to hear about belle's reasons but for me, I have always been used to V8s and torque was always huge on my list. You have to "squeeze" the performance of the P car whereas the C is instant detonation.
I did tune the 997S and put a different exhaust but it could never resemble the V8 rumble of a catless Audi V8 or C63.

Well, simply put, I wanted a more practical car. I have a large dog I want to put in the backseats during weekend trips, so we can take her with us. Also I wanted something I can drive 10 months of the year (vs. 7 months of the year). Yes, it is a downgrade on cornering (but it's an upgrade in straight line speed so I looked at it as "even".) Finally, I am the type of guy who generally keeps a car 1-2 yrs (and I had had the 997.2S for almost 2 yrs).... great car, but something new for a change keeps it fresh!

Miserly mpg, exhibitionist torque (i.e. Q5 TDI)
Congrats Bellemastiff; you and your dog should have a blast! Let us know if your dog barks back at the engine.
For those asking why go 911 to c63, I'm in a similar situation to Belle. I have a 997 six speed manual that, frankly, is one of the most beautifully balanced, engaging, spirited rides you can buy. There is no better driving experience. . . .
if, say, you live in northern California. I live in a midwestern big city, and the pot-holed city roads, combined with bad weather, combined with lousy traffic that erodes much of the fun of a stick shift, simply saps some of the joy out of the car. The c63 suffers less here because (1) you get to enjoy the main draw -- massive power and evil sound, (2) the automatic makes driving in traffic less painful (though you could go pdk,) and (3) it has higher ground clearance, making it less awful in the winter. Don't get me wrong, when I retire to Big Sur I am getting another 911, but for flatland big city life, the c63 is an awesome fit.

Yeah, after 2 years with the 911, here is my conclusion:
The 911 is a dream "2nd car".
In my case I have a 1 car garage which limits me to 1 car. Plus that's what the old lady tells me ("one car at a time")...
As far as "trackability" goes, I'm not an A+ (or even B+) driver anyway... so why NOT get a hot rod rather than a sports car??
Added: Of course, I do realize, nearly everyone who posts here (as well as at 6Sp.Online) is the next Mario Andretti so admitting I don't need the "all out sports car" may make me sound like less of a man ;-)

looks great! what is your opinion of the p30 package? I drove the 2010 c63 (not even p31) and it felt a bit soft to me. Is the p30 noticeably stiffer? It might be just what im looking for!

I LOVE the suspension. I have heard P30 is harsher, but haven't driven a P31, so don't know for sure.
Even the P30 feels "soft" from me compared to my old 997.2 ... however it still feels like a true performance sedan with sports suspension to me.

That sums it up perfectly. The Porsche is a second car. The only things the Porsche and C63 share are aome specs. The Porsche requires your full attention at all times (maybe not as much with the PDK). You can just cruise the C63 like a daily driver but ignite with a quick punch of the loud pedal.
