C63 exhaust video : ear candy
just had to post this video. maybe some of you have seen it. I just like listening to it eating my breakfast. yeah I know.
I think it's great (BTW not my car) because unlike a lot of exhaust sound c63 video, this one has the camera mounted on the car instead of having the car just rev its engine while standing still or the camera standing still while the car rides away from the camera. the owner even went thru the trouble of writing the throtle position for each start.
the car is stock too. and the sond quality is great.

My complaint about the c63 is the car gar is so well built that you don't get to hear the full exhaust blast of the car even at moderate speed.
2 weeks ago I had a contractor with a big pick up following me with his windows openened to my house for some work. We have to go trough a big and long tunnel..... I opened it a little in the tunnel. Not even to the rev limiter.
When we got to my place first thing he asked if I had changed the exhaust or taken off some parts. he just could'nt believe that the car was stock.

The sound of the car in that vid is great. Shows how much more pronounced and intoxicating the sound is outside the car than from the inside. Listening to the 63s open up on the track at Mount Treblant was amazing both inside and outside the car. Every once in a while I turn a head on the street when I am driving relatively sedately around town so I know the exhaust note is more intoxicating than it appears from inside the car.
Nice find.
Nice find.

Nice video by the way, love the sound. Just perfect. I wonder if P31 and stock sound considerably different?

No video can do it justice. The best way to listen to the sound is stand behind the car while someone else revs it. I did that for the first time last weekend and was stunned by how ferocious it is. Very different from the sound inside the car (which is nice too).

look at my new t-shirt. AMG all the way.
I'm lucky in that I get to drive through a 3 lane long tunnel every day to work.
My wife won't let me drive fast or hard. she gets really angry when I rev the engine
But when i'm alone...
The best sound is when the engine is under stress IMO. Like going up a pretty steep hill when i exit the tunnel. that's when I floor it. I'm prety sure someone next to me with his/her windows open could get somekind of ear drum damage.
I particularly like the raspy vibration. I'm driving with my back seat down this weekend. just more entertaining.

The car sounds even better with Kleeman's K2 hardware without being overly loud as LTs. I don't mind the compromise in power over LTs since NV requires an annual smog test via OBDII.
