Clarification on H&R Springs and KW3 Coilovers
Can someone tell me the major differences? Thanks in advance. I might do a drop after my LSD fluid change. Also what settings on stock wheels/tires, so that it won't rub. And also how long is average install? I also wanted to know if H&R are the best aftermarket springs. I would like to use safe mods only :P

it comes down to how much money you want to spend, kwv3’s are 10x the cost of springs and if you think you need and will use the full adjustability of the v3’s, by all means get them they are pretty sick. not only height but rebound and compression are adjustable.
Personally I'd love to have kw's but I'm cheap and only lowered my car for looks.

^^ Well said Jeff... khmer, if you dont track your car, no need to spend 2500$ on the KW3, unless you like to raise & lower your car often.
I went for the H&R springs alone just for the look & mild drop. You can always consider the H&R coilovers for half the price of the KW3.
On stock wheels, you wont have problem slamming your car w/o rubbing.

I really like the H&R springs so far. I had to order camber bolts to complete the front alignment, still in progress. You get a good increase in camber. Great for handling but maybe not so good for tire wear. The drop for the springs is 20mm = .75".

Lowering the car creates negative camber and there are numerous camber adjustment kits available to correct that IF you choose to do so . My front wheels are now at - 1.9 degrees which actually improves turn in response over stock settings. In fact MB has stated the 2012 will have more negative camber from the factory.
Bottom line is the H&R springs are well made, work great with the stock suspension and improve the car's looks significantly. They are slightly stiffer than stock but you only notice if you are traveling over cobblestones.

I don't think I will get the camber bolts for mine, the little negative camber in the front improves the handling in my opinion. .75 drop is very minimal... so I wouldn't worry too much. I might get my alignment later, but for now, the car is driving "on rails".

Personally I love my V3s. I don't track my car but I think that they actually make the car a little more comfortable if you adjust it correctly. I forgot how much I dropped it, but I am running 275s just fine. It rubs when 3 fat people get in the car or when 4 people are in the car.
H&R springs are okay. But I heard stories where springs can damage the metal bar thing that goes in the springs (don't know what it's called sorry)
Personally I do not know what the cost is of that, but since coilovers give you one themselves then I would prefer coilovers just in case.
If you don't care about comfort I would rather go with H&R coils, just cause the reason above and you can adjust your ride height.

my car aligned fine after springs. the rear is sort of questionable but still within spec on camber.
edit: If I was going to keep this car for the long haul and had the money I'd do v3's in a heart beat. I've always wanted to try a set.
