MCT Tranny reviews.

Has anyone had a chance to drive the C63 with the MCT in it yet?

How does it compare to the old tranny, night and day? Worth buying a new one just for the tranny?

Absoloutely. As an owner of a SL63 (packed with MCT transmission) and a previous owner of a C63, The driving is much better and the shifting in the new transmission is much smoother and quicker

The little time i've had to drive with the C, the MCT feels great. None of that jerkiness some people have been complaining about. Although based on another thread it seems to vary from car to car... I wouldn't however say it's worth buying a new car for it. Of course there are a lot of other improvements (imo) worth trading it in for, but not solely for the MCT.

The nicest part about the MCT.. no torque converter, which is a major power eater, so you end up with more power to the wheels

I know this , however people in other posts think it's the same and I just wanted to make it clear. I like to see how the new c63 trans holds up with a little power. As for the numbers i've seen yet, I really dont see a much improvement if any. Most people always think new is better and this is not always the case. All im saying is just wait a little and see if it really proves its self by the test of time. This is why I would never buy the 1st year of any car. They always make big improments on year 2 and 3.

this really isn't a first year car though. nothing on it is new (mechanically). trans and engine have been used in e's and sl's for years.

See Sig
Of course its going to shift better and crisper. Id like to see some track results. Im curious if the launch control with DR's helps or hurts times.

I was wondering how this is also.

When you down shift if touch the paddle twice very quick
does it down shift two? Right now if you want to down shift
from 4th to 2nd you have shift down one by one but like SMG
you touch the paddle twice quick it goes down two very fast.
Can you do this with MCT?

Id like to know this as well. The downshifts on the previous tranny's are a tad bit annoying, a faster shifting tranny would be awesome.
