Failed Vehicle Inspection due to noise (LTH)
Hi Guys!
My car, now with Supersprint long tube headers (which replaced the primary cats) did not pass the Swedish Vehicle Inspection yesterday due to the noise (bad luck when the boss showed up just as the Inspector started the baby up...).
Emissions were OK (they put a probe up the tail pipe) so the secondary cats were in order! That´s the good news. The OBD-tests (never seen that before) were also OK.
Apparently a car in Sweden must not make more noise then 99dB meassured at 4000 rpm. My car was tested at 102dB... How can I with simple means fix the problem?
Thanks!

You do these emmision tests once a year. Just do what I do. move your aftermarket exhust and put back your stock system. have the car tested, pass it, then go back to your longtubes.

That's too much work IMHO not to mention you don't want to be messing around with those bolts by the cylinder head. May I suggest adding an extra resonator into the system. That may eat up some of the sound and not kill the HP you gained. You can even have the installer add v-bands so that you may bolt the resonator on or off at your choice.
