Searched but no tips - how to remove trunk chrome strip mounting

Searched extensively using several search term iterations with no luck. I want to remove the entire module that contains the chrome strip on the trunk / deck lid, including the trunk release / lights etc, so that I can easily tape off and plasti-dip it. I removed the two hex screws but it won't budge. I'm guessing that from inside the decklid, the padding needs to be removed which will allow access to additional screws / fasteners that hold the whole thing in place.

Anyone remove this before? Clearly lots of folks have had it painted / dipped / wrapped etc.

Thanks in advance

You need to remove the inside liner of the trunk. That will allow you to get to two more hex screws in the middle holding the trunk release button. There are 3 yellow clips that you push down on and one black clip that you squeeze. Before popping the clips, make sure you tape the corners of your trunk right below the trim or else your gonna scratch it. Trust me
