Help-a new 2010 sitting on the lot- what should I offer?
There is a new 2010, yes, 2 year old leftover sitting at the dealer. It is MSRP at 66K and change. Am wondering what you guys think is a fair price? I am thinking of offering 50K or is that too much to start with?
It's 2 years old but new. They claim it was never registered but has an "in-service" date of August 2010 so the warranty timer started ticking already.
Any thoughts would be great! Thanks for your help.

Say 50K is your absolutely top ceiling price, just start low and negotiate up to your price.
You never know, the dealership just might be accomodating, as they want to move leftover inventory.

In 2010, when I bought my C63, I got 15K off sticker in what was called trunk money. With a little cash down, I walked out the door at 54K. The sticker was 72K, to start with.

$10K was true trunk money (factory to dealer) and the rest was what the dealer ate. I bought my 2009 CPO in June of 2010 and was absolutely agonizing over the deals you guys were getting on new ones only two months later!

There was a guy that received 20K off of sticker my salesman told me.
And I thought I was getting a good deal

see if they will throw in a certified warranty on it. i know i know...its not used BUT you did loose one year of warranty.... so them throwing in a year to "fix" that little glitch shouldnt be out of the question. id say 50k plus an extra year warranty and your good.

New used car
In the biz that is considered a "new used car" so I would do an Edmunds or NaDa search on that.
I don't know if that model has been updated in '12. If it has that drags the price down more potentially.
I'd figure 30-40% off plus a CPO warranty as part of the bottom line. Deal directly with sales manager, the Salesperson will get their commission anyway.
Just my opinion based on what a car broker whispered to me.

........ That's how much I got my 08 with 25k miles for 41k out the door.... If you say I could've got a 2010 for around that price? ..... I'm going to find a corner and cry now..

That sounds like a good buy actually. I think 30 to 40% off is unrealistic for a new 2010. I think I could sell mine in the 50K range right now.
