M3 - C63 blk/blk ordered
Video in motion without splicing
I have a 2012 C63 Sedan on order. I wanted to order a Video in Motion module, and like the one by Kufatec because it is simply plug and play without any splicing required.
I have used modules from Kufatec on prior vehicles without a hitch. Can anyone confirm that the 2012 comes with Comand 4.5 and not 4?
I will be ordering from Kufatec's USA website if anyone is also interested. The don't list it, but emailed me that it is order able for $249.

I was interested in this mod as well, so which system provides the best results and easiest to install? I checked the kufatec site but was to able to follow it. I did the VIM mod in my S5, but that was an easy hack with the codes online and a VAG com.

I'm curious also, $249 seems like a decent price. MidCity quoted me $350 a few years back, I thought that price to be a little high.

how difficult would this be to insall? From what I have read, this plugs intot he back of the radio correct? I might give the cartronics a call and try if they are local, i.e. inside CONUS.

On my last Kufatec module, I went to the dealer they had a tech put a "key' into the radio to remove the head unit and it simply plugged into the back, and the original cable plugged into the new module. Took less than 5 minutes start to finish.

Firewired, are you in the US? the dealer was willing and able to install this VIM for you? So you recommend the Kufatec system? Installing the Aux might not be a bad idea for future plug-ins down the road.

Yes I am in Texas. I haven't done the VIM on the C63 yet as mine is still on order. I had used Kufatec VIM module on a prior Audi. I had a good relationship with the service department so they just had a tech pull the head unit out for me and plug the module in the back. Kufatec assures me the install for the C63 is similarly plug and play. I'll post when I do the install, as well as I have asked them for a copy of the installation instructions.

Here is the Installation instructions for the module. Sorry they are in German. Talking to Kufatec, basically the hold time is getting to the back of the head unit. After that you simply plug in the back. I went ahead put the order in. Will keep you updated.
