When I want from my E46 to my C55, which was my first MB, I was amazed at how hard the A/C blew. On its highest setting it's like a huge continuous gust of strong wind, and its quite cold.

I am not very impressed with the A/C on my C63 but again my cars interior is black and it has black leather. In addition to that I live in Tucson and it takes a good 5 minutes or more to start getting some cold air inside the cabin.
I have been in Tucson for 9 plus years and from having owned many cars I must say that I am not impressed with the A/C on the C63. I have a 1995 Toyota Corolla that blows significantly much colder. My best reaslistic test is when you are driving a car and you have to turn off the A/C because your face hurts. That is excatly what happens with my 95 toyota Corolla and it doesn't happen with the Mercedes C63.
That is all I have to say.

^^ What color of interior do you have? In the summers I get home still with my back soaky wet from a 15 minutes ride from work to home.
The reference that I have is having to turn of the A/C on my other car from being too cold. It really all depends. When I get to work my car sits in the sun for 9 hours and that is why the cabin gets so hot.

I agree that the A/C system leaves a little to be desired. It's OK and it does the job, but it's average at best compared to most other cars out there. Fan control is not graduated enough in my opinion as well.

More than sufficent for Las Vegas summers. On MAX it cools the cabin fairly quickly. Those of you in a more humid climate may have different results.

All these systems might not have the same amount of refrigerant etc. so they may vary in efficiency, hence the differing opinions. I find the a/c to be excellent...my fingers actually can turn numb under certain (normal) conditions.

It is very cold in my car. Also, I think the concept is not to give your face a freezer burn but to blow cold air in a comfortable manner. I have noticed like in the Japanese cars that bolws frigid air, you can oly take so much of it until your skin actually hurts and you need to turn it down or away anyway...
