Price opinions on this 09 C63 please
Drove this local C63 yesterday. A bit higher miles than I might hope for, but it was in impeccable condition inside and out, and the options on it seem like just what I'd want (it was an early 09 that had the LSD and speed delimiter but no full perf. pack). Car is CPO
31k miles. Dealer is asking $49,990
According to KBB and carfax stuff, the price seems fair, but given some things I've read on here, it seems high. So...here I am asking. Hoping I could maybe put the squeeze on, if they want a sale by 2011 close.
Details:
2009 C63 AMG FINISHED IN OBSIDIAN BLACK METALLIC WITH AMG LEATHER PACKAGE TRIMMED IN BLACK MAPLE WOOD. WELL CARED FOR 1 OWNER CAR WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT. SPECIAL ORDERED NEW WITH THE DELIMITATION OF TOP SPEED TO 174 MPH PACKAGE AND LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL!! ALSO EQUIPPED WITH PREMIUM 2 PACKAGE, MULTI MEDIA PACKAGE W/ iPOD AND VOICE CONTROL. ORIGINALLY SOLD , SERVICED EXCLUSIVLEY AND CERTIFIED BY EURO DEVON.
Link:

With 31k miles, what service should I ensure has been performed (brakes?).
BTW, tires that are on there are the Pilot Sport Plus A/S (guess owner got sick of 5k mile replacements!?), but I've heard they are at least decent, and they have tons of tread left.
Thanks!

my '09 has the full pp, carbon fiber trim, every option, etc...... i paid 49.9k in july and my car had 18k miles. it wasnt cpo tho. youre in the ballpark if its from the dealer. those miles should knock it down a couple grand tho.

I was thinking of offering 45. Is that laughable or feasible?
Oh, he also said for $3,900 they would extend the warranty two more years beyond the one extra for CPO.
Since I'm selling my BMW basically because I don't want to own it out of warranty, that option is seeming mandatory for me. Thoughts on that too?

Offer $45 but know you won't get it for that but you should get about closer. The factory extended warranty is not bumper to bumper but it does cover the big $$$$ items. That price can be negotiated down, make it part of the deal. The salesman will say you have to talk to finance about it. Don't fall for that trick. Tell them you need a package deal with the warranty. They can knock $1,000 off the warranty easy. The warranty while expensive is worth it. I never used to beleive it until the tranny driveshaft and rear diff in my C55 all took a dump and were replaced/repaired under the extended warranty. Dealer told me I would have been looking at close to $10k without the warranty. On the other hand the Blue Tooth in my X3 fried itself during the CPO warranty and it was not covered, a $900 fix it.

thats alot of money for a car with miles like that. i sold my 3,000 mile 09 loaded car for 51k (car had weeks and carbon fiber kit) - i can probably locate you one with lower miles for less money. let me know

It costs the dealer a few bucks to CPO a car. Lots of wear items (tires and brakes being the most expensive) can easily add $3k to the used car vehicle. Also if you want the factory extended warranty you can only get it with a CPO car (at least in Cali). As you are warranty concious, you just have to accept the you will not get the lowest price as the MBZ dealers have a monopoly on this. The car is three years old so 31,000 miles is not really considered high milage. However with more 2012 coming into the market, there may be a better selection of used C63 coming to dealers lots. Mid $40's is not a screaming deal, just a fair one given market conditions. Of course December 31 is the best day to buy so you might get closer to the $45k number you're hoping for. The dealer will never accept your first offer so start a bit lower.

I got the exact color combo black/black 09 with delimiter and LSD (no 30 hp gain) CPO 9 months ago with 4000 miles for $51k The MB dealer was asking $53k. It was pristine and supposedly no one had ever sat in the back seats. The LSD makes a difference in the car.
I got my first 08 C63 CPO a couple of years ago at $47k, but had just shy of 20000 miles and no LSD or delimiter. The 08's were kinda cool in having the auto fold in mirrors, but the back seats did not split and fold down.

My 09 with no LSD and 25k kms (15k miles) in mintier than mint shape was $50K Cdn. Market is smaller here, supply is tighter, so we usually pay a few bucks more. They originally had it at $58.9K.

Thanks, all, for your input on this car. The stars did not align. As I was gathering my research to make an offer, the dealer called to say it sold last night.
Hoping another one like that comes along!

At this point, I'll keep an eye out for c63 or e90 m3 and not rush since we just hit winter anyway.
My dream find would be
'10
15k miles
CPO
Black or obsidian or dark gray
Gray or gray/black two tone interior (this two tone was made, right? Seems rare? Can't even find pics!)
Premium 2 pack
Multimedia pack
LSD
iPod or MIP kit

I tried to trade my BMW in on a 2009 C63 extended CPO(135k) just a couple weeks ago. The car had under 9k miles and the price was $49.5k if I remember correctly. Was black on black, lighting package, premium leather, and not sure what other options v. what is standard on a 09. Unforuntately for me though I had to pass on it because my model BMW has horrible wholesale market appeal and at 20k miles it could only muster $20k trade in.

Ah. Yeah my 2007 335 is immaculate, at 34k miles. I wouldn't take less than kbb/edmunds of 23k trade/25k retail.

Yeah, trade in as per KBB/Edmunds on a "d" is far better than what he could offer me. I actually know him pretty well and know he was not BS'n me on what little he could get for it. Just bad luck on my part to bought a car that turned out to have so little appeal later on down the road.

exactly the same scenario- 2007 cpo 335i with 34k miles immaculate. couldn't sell it for a couple of weeks on auto trader and found my c 63, went to 2 dealers to get trade in amount. none were offering to take for more than 20-21k.
you're going to be lucky to sell it for 23k trade in or 25k retail. let us know though =)

It work. We'll see. That's one thing that I figured would be a plus with going for an e90 M3...BMW dealer may give me more.

Yeah. I hear ya. If that's the case, yank goes the $1,500 BMW performance exhaust. That plus selling my winter wheels and tires should calm me enough to still make

In almost all trade in scenarios your exhaust adds zero value. In a number of cases it hurts the value. You'd be best putting it back to stock and selling the exhaust to an individual. As far as trade in at the BMW dealer, that does tend to net a better value but then one could argue are they really taking more of a hit or just have higher profit margins to begin with. I can trade my BMW in on a Panamera and get $27k for the BMW or in on an AMG for $20k. I am betting anything the Porsche dealer just has some bigger profit margins to make me "feel good" about my trade in.

I know. With Porsche I could only get him down some on pricing after weeks of negotiating. I never said I was trading in and to the best of his knowledge all I had was my truck. I actually already decide not to get it but decided to find out trade in value just for reference. That is when I discovered his tactics, make them feel good about trade in value and financing actually.
