Whine??
hi everyone when driving a little quicker and more vigorous, the car has a very loud quite high pitched whine. im not sure if it is a fan or what
do you guys know?

Sound system on or off? Faulty ignition suppression will make a horrible, rising pitch sound through the radio via the speakers.

Well its not from the sound system. I'm not sure what it could be? If it is oil fan is it alright that its that loud? Jrcart at least I'm not the only one.

Go listen to the passenger side front, you can hear/see if its the oil cooler fan.. That little thing starts to scream if you are beating on the car in a warm climate.
It shouldn't be on all the time, just when the oil temps get really hot, it comes on...

Thanks! I'll have a look next time it comes on! It could be that, cause I'm in south africa and the climate is very hot and we in summer.

Why is it so loud? It sounds like a vacuum cleaner when its running. It's a bit embarrassing when you pull up and there are people around. Why couldn't they make it a bit quieter?

Yep. In my case, it's more like a loud ROAR! As in, "Why are you going 100 mph to get around that truck? Are you trying to get a ticket? Are you trying to get us killed?"
Yes, the GLK 350 will go from 50 mph to 100 mph while passing a Tahoe pulling a trailer full of 4 wheelers.
Hope you find the whine under the hood.
