If you are going to spend the money and keep the car, the Racing Brake could make more sense as the rings are replaceable so your next rotor set will be cheaper.

The regular $175 solid rotors also fit just fine. If you are looking to save some $$ or don't plan to keep the car I'd do this option.

Front rings:

Rear rings:

Price includes brand new hardware, no extra cost.

Click "Replacement components" tab next to "Description" to access those links.

Unless you are tracking your C63, you probably never needs replacement. RB two piece rotors can last more than 100,000 miles for street driving.

Hey guys

A lot of people told that the one piece rotor is ok for a C63 with performance package but the screw position on the rotors don't look the same to me.

Maybe there is 2 different position for left and right?

Can someone confirm for sure that it feat with no modification at all?

Thanks

Those screws are not necessary. I know plenty of people who don't use them.

There is only one screw and it's in the exact same position in that pic you quoted. The 2nd hole is likely threaded used to work the rotor free once it has been stuck on the hub. The position of that hole doesn't matter.

It looks like if you rotate the rotor clock wise that is lines right up.

Thanks

I though there were 2, why 2 hole if just one screw

Tire Rack

Tire rack seems to have the one piece rotors pretty cheap. The photo is a stock photo of a solid rotor, but the description states:

(Front) Cross drilled vented rotor. 1 pc iron disc.
(Rear) Drilled & Slotted vented rotor.

My questions is - at 38k miles, i was told my rotors need replacing.
I have a 2012 C63 DP coupe.

Can I just buy Rings and pads and do the replacement - or do I need a whole kit, assuming I go with 2 piece. IOW - is the Factory setup Specific to Both parts needing to be replaced of the Rotor, or can replacement Rings be bought and installed on the Factory Hubs?

Thanks!

Officially you cannot buy just the rings, but someone here was looking into having them fabricated. Otherwise you can just use the one piece rotors no problems. FCP Euro are great, plus they have a lifetime replacement warranty even on wear items. Unbelievable, but true. Unless they changed their policy. I replaced my 2 piece p30's with one piece, but kept the old ones just in case.

You have to replace the entire rotor on a 2012 with PP brakes. The rings are not removable as they are forged '1.5' piece rotors, not true two piece. Yes the solid one works just fine if you want to save some $$.

Pics in this thread to see that thee are no screws to remove the rings:

To eliminate any confusion, my set of 2 piece rotors, the ones of the right arrived yesterday, $798.00 delivered

Well........surprise, surprise!! I just pick up a pair of 2-piece rotors on eBay, guess how much? Wait for it......$798.00 Yes, that is for both front rotors. What a deal, because I've talked to my local MB dealer, and they want $$$$ Now AutohausAZ has the complete brake package for $2400, that includes (F)/(R) rotors, pads, sensors, retaining screws and brake paste.

Great price, I didn't realize the P30 rotors had come down in price so much. Looks like FCP Euro has them for $490 each. Might have to consider picking up a set myself as opposed to $800 each for the p31 rotor. The Racing Brake ones are even lighter and $600 each, but include pads. Not a bad deal either imo.

AutohausAZ

Well, AutohausAZ has the complete front brake kit for $2087, I thought that was a good deal considering the stealership price, but then I found them cheaper on ebay. But that doesn't include the pads, sensors or paste, but you do get the retaining screw.

If you want true 2-piece rotors, RacingBrake is the best option without a doubt.
Lighter and cheaper than OEM. I've had their kit in a shopping cart for the last 2 months...

http://www.racingbrake.com/Mercedes-.../mb-irk-18.htm

But after much debate, I've decided to go the cheaper route.

Ordered 1pc replacement rotors from FCP Euro
(2) front & (2) rear shipped for $543

Porterfield RS-4S pads from LPI Racing for $376

Total ~$1000 vs $2500

I don't doubt the benefits of unsprung/rotational weight savings, and I do plan on getting them down the road. But for right now, my car is a DD, and I'd rather apply that $1500 towards other goodies on my wish list.

I have used fcpeuro and their prices and shipping are both excellent. A good first stop for genuine parts.

Old tread but I thought I'd try to post a question: I have a 2012 C63 that needs new front rotors (pads are good for now) and I'm wondering where I can buy some at a reasonable price online (Canada/US)? Also, is there any other part(s) I need besides the rotor when replacing the front rotors?

Thanks,
