2012 C63 to replace BMW 335i as a daily driver
Hi guys, I'm a new member. My daily driver is a 2009 BMW 335i with the M Sport Package, I am thinking of replacing it with a 2012 C63. I'm not concerned about the C63 fuel economy, my question is, how is it as a daily driver? is it harsh when the road is not very smooth? I sat briefly in a 2009 C63 last year and was not a fan of the seats, are they the same in the new model? Thanks for your replies, I've been dreaming about that C63 exhaust noise for some time now, and now I think I'm ready to get one!

The car is a very good daily, can be quiet and comfortable to drive in comfort mode low speeds. Only loud when you step on it. i think the 2012 seats are the same feeling as the previous (personal opinion).

Thanks for your reply, how do you find the seats, comfortable? Do you drive yours in the winter? I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and plan to drive it year round (with winter tires when needed) Also curious on what kind of fuel economy you observe, I don't expect great fuel economy, just curious

Great DD. If you thought the seats were too tight across the upper back, the coupe has different seats...more accommodating but just as supportive. I've had both cars and prefer the coupe seats.

Vancouver had very little snow this year so it was n.p for the car. My fuel econ ain't that good cuz I got a lead foot tho I drive it in Comfort Manual most of the time. I fill my tank whenever it hits half, and I avg drive 30 km on weekdays. Fill it back up every 3-4 days avg.
My city mileage is 15-17
High way w/ Sports mode is 20-22

I find it comfortable 99% of the time. On occasions, at low speed if you go over a very bad road with small bumps all over it, it can give a "jiggly" sort of ride and your foot can accidentally dab the accelerator. Having said that it is very rare and at slow speeds.

other then then the fact that its a c63 what i love most are the seats. i love it hugs the body and are very comfortable.. my daily ride everywhere i go unless its long distance cuz it waists gas.. i prefer to put 91 in mine and with l.a. gas prices right now no way i wnna drive it anywere past 200 miles 2 expensive. when i dnt have the urge to put my foot on the gas i average 13 on the street and 18 highway.. you can pretty much watch the dial drop when ur gassing it

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
There is no doubt that the C63 has to make compromises in some situations.....it has to, otherwise it could not be what it wants to, or should, be.
One of those compromises is ride "quality" or harshness, or whatever ya wanna call it.....but it ain't a problem.
We've got the 19s on our car,...& we wouldn't change 'em...but on some surfaces, the ride is transferred, quite harshly, into the cabin......however, that is a characteristic that can be true of any "tightly strung" performance vehicles on 19", 35 profile tyres.
Ok, so it's a bit "harsh" for maybe 1-2% of the time, but apart from that.....it's brilliant....so, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Cheers, Pickles.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I find the ride abit harsh for a DD ( and I'm 20 so its not like I'm an old Guy complaining LOL)
If you dislike the older models seats, I recommend you try the coupe since the seats are less aggressively bolstered. (Driven both) downside is that you can't adjust the bolsters on the coupe.

I've had a "pleasure" of driving such model in NYC area (which has pretty poor road quality) and I don't think any other car has worse riding comfort than this one, especially if you have a RFT tires on it (BMW did revise the suspension for 3-series starting from 2011 models, making it much more comfortable).
Even the roads in NYC area are "silky smooth" compared to this!

I said it before and will say again.... if you are <180 (normal build) then the seats will feel like it was built for you. any larger that that and it becomes a Preference. i am close to 170 and the seats fit better that the ones i paid $600 over "for the custom fit" in my old race car.
I do however have a running joke with my brother and some of my hmm taller friends and I tell them. ( The seats come in 3 sizes and I opted for the medium size)

You would think with all of the organized crime in Montreal they would be handing out contracts to road construction companies owned by the mob to get all of this stuff cleaned up and earn favours at the same time.

New member here and thought this would be a good first post for me to chime in on.
Currently driving an 07 335i with a bunch of mods, kw2's, 19's wheels, cat less exhaust just to name a few. Love the car to death. My lease is up and have been going back and forth between a new 335is (moving mods over) and a 12' C63 coupe with P31. I guess 'comfort' is totally relative here since I find the C63 with p31 on the soft side, even as a DD. I'm 29 fwiw. All this is personal as I could be okay with a gt3 rs as a daily.. Lol
Will be putting coils on it if I do go with the car.
On the seat issue, I actually love the seats in the new coupe where as I felt I didn't fit in the seats in the '10 C63 sedan. I'm 6'0 and about 180lbs. I just wish they has some more ajustments like a lower leg pull out or ajustable bolsters like the previous car.
Hope some of that helped.. now only to decision to make is if I can get away from a 6MT for this beast!
