2012 Performance Pack C63 + ECU tune
Hi, new to the forum.... I am looking at getting a 2012 C63 with performance pack....I have a questions for all the gurus here...
Has anyone done an ECU tune over and on top of their C63 + performance pack?
Btw, I tried searching on the header sticky post.... is there a set of performance headers that includes high flow cats?
I was just wondering the different options
1) Performance Pack C63
2) Performance Pack C63 + ECU tune
3) Performance Pack C63 + ECU tune + short performance header mated to stock exhaust & stock cats
what would the different gains be like?
many thanks.

To answer the questions, I can't be specific until I do the search myself(I encourage to do your on search) but going by memory I recall at least two separate test on short headers(one from Klemman and one from PLM) and they both added between 15-20whp.
Also I recall some post about people that had the C63 12' model with performance package and they still gain significant power. Again, I will have to find it but I am 200% certain about the gains.

My buddy has a 2006 F430 (F1) and I have a 2012 Coupe PP with a tune and I consistently beat him in races in Mexico (not by much mind you), from a stop, from a roll, from 40, doesn't matter I beat him. Again, not by much. Don't know what it would be like w/o the tune though.
To me, it's worth it for the tune. I have a eurocharged tune and I'm quite happy with it. Felt the difference immediately, shifts more agressive, just made a big difference.
With LTH's on the car I suspect my winning margin would increase a bit
Still haven't had it dynoed since the tune though. Pre-tune my numbers were 433/410 bone stock with 3xx miles on the car.

Checked it out......520bhp for factory performance pack ..... (red calipers, sls internals) + aftermarket ecu tune.
On 98 ron gas..... = 93 octane gas for you guys in the USA.

1 and 2 will put you at around 510-520hp.
3 will put you at around 550-560 with high flow cats.
A member had his P31 performance package car tuned by Brabus and got an increase of 5hp. I personally don't think tuning a P31 car does much...
There was a thread on here where a tuned car raced a P31 car and they were dead even over and over.
Long tube headers with an X pipe is one of the best mods you can do to this car.
MHP has header with cats if you want too.

as you can see from my info, i have a pp car and ive come to the conclusion that you only need a tune if you are going to start messing with your intake, headers, or exhaust. to my knowledge the tune gives your ecu greater parameters in order to rich-en up the fuel mixture to combat a lean situation caused by greater air flow due to modifications.
the dealership gave me alot of gruff for having a tune on my last car and as stated above, a tune over the pp+ shows marginal performance gains.
