What changes are coming on the 2013 model?

I am about to buy a new C63. Does anyone know what changes are in store for the 2013 model?? As I can pick up a 2012 with promotional financing or order a 2013 and pay a higher overall cost. But if there are nice changes I will do it. Thanks for the help, Merlinn

With BMW coming with the new M3 with turbos and good milage you would think MBZ would counter it somehow..

It will, but probably not until 2014 or further after the new C comes out. I'm sure the formula between the two brands will probably be the same. BMW M = handling, AMG = horsepower

They will but they are in the middle of the car's life cycle. 2014/2015 for the new model. You won't see the new M3 on our continent much before then anyway. No car manufacturer makes wholesale changes to the car every few years as it would be cost prohibitive. Most do major revisions every 6 to 8 years with a refresh (like what happened in 2012 for the C63) in the middle.

The next C63 will very likely have a turbo too Not all new things are necessarily better in my opinion. I don't care too much about gas mileage in a car like this and what you give up when you drop a NA engine for a turbo isn't worth it to me. So, the new M3 and the next C63 will be new but progress doesn't always mean "better."

Yea, I have the same feeling and I'm glad that I've ordered a 2012 model. I do not mind paying extra $$$ for gasoline, and I'd rather NOT listen to digital recording of "powerful engine" piped through the car's stereo system in a car with forced induction engine - I'd rather enjoy it in more natural way

I went to Ray Catena Mercedes in Edison NJ to discuss ordering a 2013 C63 AMG Sedan. He said that the official release date for the 2013 is July 2012.

Some changes include:
1.) The addition of the drivers assistance package found in the E-class ~$3,000 USD
2.) MBRACE 2 with complimentary 6 month subscription
3.) Addition of exterior colors (Diamond Silver Metallic is a new addition)
4.) Removal of Cuprite Brown color and few more colors

Engine specs remain the same

He did also mention that in 2014 they will completely redesign the c-class with a new engine (Biturbo). Personally I am not a fan of turbo's so I plan on purchasing the 2013

Lastly, official pricing has not been announced but the base price of the car will remain the same or within ~$1000 USD

The redesign will be late 2014 as a 2015 model if it follows MB's schedule. We should start seeing less camoflaged versions of the mules pop up around winter 2012.

BTW, do you think I should wait for the 2014 model since it will be right before the redesign? Hopefully by this time any problems found in the 2012's would be corrected (i.e. dashboard sounds and all other problems listed in Common Problems with the C63 AMG feed)

Lastly, do you know what is happening with the class action suit on the W204 engine (http://www.autoevolution.com/news/me...res-38995.html)

Is it reliable?

I am thinking it would be July 15th, but that is just a guess.

I've never seen a whole lot of fixes for final year models. Usually, they'll make a full loaded special edition or special packages with a discounted price, so you'll get a bit of a price break. But is it worth waiting 16 months to save 3 or 4 grand?

Also, he said that they are only taking orders for 2013's so the 2012's are pretty much gone...At least on the east coast (sedan versions)

@ rage2 => If I could I would have bought it 'yesterday', 16 months is a long time, but I just graduated from college so I can wait.

3K to 4K is still a lot of money in my eyes, I could buy the full leather seating package. LOL ("a penny saved is a penny earned"). Also, I'm in no rush to purchase this car and will pull the trigger within 2 years.
