oil temp was at 145F.. a few minutes of just letting the engine run (parked) the sound was gone (temp is at 160-165F if this helps).. is it because the engine is cold? also, the previous day that i started the car (it wasnt used for about 5 days and i just started it).. there's a loud ticking noise from the engine too.. eventually when the engine got warmer it disappeared..

I heard that noise from my car a few weeks back. It was cold start, and I could hear it tick. As the engine temp got hotter the ticking got quiter.

Is this something we should be worried about, do we need to take the car in?

I had y cam adjusters replaced under warranty for being noisy. Now it's going in for noisy lifters when hot.
