2013 C63 Black Series
Things have a way of working out - C63 BS
I cant claim to always be patient, but in this case it paid off. I put down a deposit today on a C63 Black Series that is currently in production. This was a sold car and the guy backed out recently.
I would tell anyone looking that there are cars out there. Takes some time and effort, but they are there. I know of at least two Matte black cars, a white car and others. What I found is that there are canceled orders coming in. Not saying that its easy to find, and not diminishing the rarity. But I went from thinking Autotrader/Ebay was the Gospel, to learning that the vast majority of these cars arent listed.
So for anyone looking, just start dialing your MB dealers in region and start working out from there. That's what I did. Now to start the waiting game
Big thanks to Rage2, Faraz, Greenlantern, Vic, others for the help and advice along the way. It tangibly led to decision value. For example, I decided to NOT go with matte paint. For me, looking at this car to be a sleeper/driver, not a track car or only weekend toy, I felt like matte was going to be too much. Too much in terms of presence and too much in terms of daily upkeep.
Thanks again guys!

lebreeze, PM me with what you are specifically looking for and I will see if it matches up with anything I saw...
My build is just a base car plus matte wheels, which is what I was looking for. I did have the ability to change, but again, for me, this was an "upgrade" from original thinking on just purchasing a C63 PP. I am not looking for an all out track beast. Dont need the wing and aerokit, G meter, etc. And getting in at a lower MSRP price point just makes the deal feel sweeter for me.
Iridium Silver.
A boring build compared to some here. But for my semi-daily duty, this is going to work great for me.

I am happy your patience has paid off. One additional word of advice. Make 100% sure your dealer has the rear seat option correctly ordered (either as a delete or an add on). Most dealers have never ordered a BS and many have screwed up this item.
Now the long wait!!!

If you are looking for a sleeper car, not going matte is definitely the way to go. I get stopped, questioned, high-fived, thumbs up almost every time I take it out. (not compaining, just saying). Also, if you are not interested in hand-washing the car at least once a week, after it rains, or after a bird accidentally poops on it, yet again you made the correct decision! I have owned my matte C63 for roughly 2 months and have washed it probably a dozen times already. My neighbors must think I'm crazy!

Is ANY BS stealthy? I will say that one of the things I love about my C63 is that hardly anyone knows what it is. Everyone thinks its just a regular C.

I also would advise ordering some of the bells and whistles (perf media for example). If you go this route, go all the way. Look at it this way, 2 weeks ago, if you found a loaded BS at MSRP, you would have snaked it, right? Also from a resale perspective, chances are buyers are going to want the extras. I know I would. You may have a tough time unloading a base C63 BS. And yes, bail on matte....a bit biased since Im not a fan, but it is definitely an attention grabber and if you're not into that, forget it.
As you have seen thus far, we won't steer you wrong here

There's a short production run of CBS's for MY2013, 150 worldwide. Car is exactly the same as the MY2012's. In Canada, the 2013's are only available in Matte White. They're all spoken for already.

I know because our local dealer told me about it, they have one on order, and can't get it in any color but Matte white (which isn't an available color anywhere else). AMG has also confirmed that all Canada MY2013 CBS's are Matte White. If you want Red, you'll have to convince the 2 Red cars in Canada to sell, there's no more Reds coming. I already got mine, it's Black.

My order config is not really about the money. I mean, I dont like to waste money, and I will admit to being more frugal that perhaps some on this board But it's got more to do with the fact that I want this car as a sleeper. At least as much as a BS can be. In simple terms, I contend that there are two types of BS buyers (this is the over simplified version, just two)....
1) Someone that can afford a $100k+ car, but it will not be a weekend only car. It may or may not be a full on daily driver, but it will see a lot of street time. Soccer games, school carpool, neighborhood runs, work/client lunches, etc. In this case the buyer doesnt want the valet to pull the car with a big wing and aerokit on it. Not how the car is being used/purchased. More as a replacement to a Porsche 911 or other fun coupe. This was just has some rarity and sleeper qualities being able to wipe out just about anything else on the road, certainly in a straight line. Fun that can be experienced almost every day. This is me.
2) Someone who has other car/cars, and for whom they can afford $100k+ for this as a track toy and/or full on weekend only garage toy. It should be bold, matte paint, wing carbon fiber, G meter, everything. This has been me, with 911s, including the one I just sold. But it is not what I am buying the BS for.
I also contend, perhaps somewhat controversily, that for resale someday, there will potentially be more #1 types than the smaller shopping audience for #2 types, which are disproportionately represented here. But that is not why I bought a base car. I bought a base car because it is right for me. Sleeper. Passable at the client, valet, kids, school, etc. but get up for a weekend drive and very entertaining!
I will say, that I have been looking at pictures of Osbidian Black, and that has my interest too. Probably will stay with the silver, but the waxed wet black look is sweet... and has the added bonus that it COULD be wrapped to look matte black if the fancy ever struck...
Hmmm. He said I only have a few more days if to change anything, then it will be frozen.
Anyway, this is my take.
