Warranty about to expire. Should I ask for anything?
My warranty on my 2009 C63 will expire in November 2012. I picked the car up in Nov 2008.
Nothing is wrong with the car, as far as I can tell. She's got 31k miles on her and drives better than she did on day one. she's not my daily driver.
Is there anything I should ask/strongly encourage the dealer to replace while i'm still under warranty?
Thoughts?
Eric

any rattles, creaks, manufacturing build defects that you can think of. squeeky mirrors are good too if your car has retractable function
most of the mechanical stuff they will want to see if fail before they will do anything with it. btw are you thinking of keeping the car? (guessing yes) you might want to look into getting extended limited warranty or at least a 3rd party warranty.

Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum. I'm thinking of picking up a used 2009 C63 with very low mileage (under 5k). The original warranty will expire in mid-September so I wanted to get some feedback on extended warranty and common problems C63 owners have encountered.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

If you have the P30 package with alcantara steering wheel, you may want to ask to get a new wheel. Mine was getting really worn out and they replaced it.
I would suggest you get an extended warranty if you are going to keep the car. It is also a big plus for resale.

^^ just wanted to ask how did you explain or convince your SA (or dealer) to replace the alcantara wheel? if they say it's some sort of wear and tear thing, then that's something they can't replace (?)

They had to bring an MB rep for the region to approve it but I told them that the wear and tear was abnormal for a car that was 2.5 years old with 26K on it. I had a 997S and advised them I never had that issue. It was very obvious in my case. I had to push hard a bit but I got it done.

You need to drive that car! No need for a garage queen!

Thanks for your input. The seller is a relative of mine so I'm getting a price that's likely much less than fair market value. I'm guessing fair mkt value for this car (3500 miles, conven pkg, AMG leather, multimedia, iridium silver, pristine condition) in a private sale would be mid to high 40k. Maybe someone else can chime in on this matter.

Any private warranties out there for our cars? I got 6 months left on my factory warranty....
Also when you get an extended warranty do you have to bring the car in for inspection or is it something I can just purchase?

Paid $3114.00 for my MBZ factory extended warranty. Its for a total of 7 years/75,000 miles. It is transferable and refundable. No inspection was done or requested by dealership.

Get it documented that you were concerned. This documentation may come in handy in the future should you need engine work done because of the head bolt issue (while no longer under warranty).
Also, I'd never get anything but the MB Extended Limited Warranty (ELW). Do it. Definitely worth it for the M156 engine cars.

I've heard that some dealerships will do the wiper blades. As everything else of value has already been said, that's all I got.
