2012 C63 died on the highway!
Not even 5000 miles on the odo...
Traction control inoperative error came on the dash and I lost all throttle control. Luckily it was just after an onramp so I was still in the right lane and was able to pull over to the shoulder. Attempts to restart the car resulted in REALLY rough idle with rpms jumping between 1k and 3k. After a few tries I just shut the car off for about 30 minutes and after that the car started up fine, but the check engine light stayed on. Was able to drive home without any issues, gonna head to the dealer in the morning and find out what the **** happened...

Does you car have an ECU tune?
Something similar happened to me when I had my tuned my 2010 C63. This has also happened to a few other members here. It is pretty scary! My 2011 P31 has been rock solid so far and I plan on keeping it stock.

same happened to me at 2k miles, everything was going berserk. no cel or anything, car couldnt respond properly, i switched it off, to start was a no show. after 3 mins of waiting for the car to remember itself, it started and 6500 miles now, knock on wood. i guess its one of those times the computer forgets itself

Did you put any additives to the fuel or it could be the fuel that you use in is not clean, I've heard that the sensors are very sensitive on this car.

Not sure about the traction control but my car had a similar problem a month ago and found out it was the fuel problem, I've overdosed the tank with Octane Booster.

Rough idle though with a bad tranny sensor?
Do you know how much gas was in the tank when this happened?
Keep us updated!

Crank position sensor? My E55 had the same exact problem, died on the freeway same exact way. Waited 30 minutes for the car to cool, started up just fine but the CEL like stayed on.

Good news is that the dealer said they found the problem and need to overnight a part in, but didn't tell me which part
Emailed back asking for more details...

SA contacted me, rear throttle actuator failed. I'm gonna ask him how the hell this could happen on a brand new car...it's an accident waiting to happen.
Worst part about this whole ordeal, the dealer ran out of benz loaners so I'm driving a 4-cylinder camry :P
