Question 53 Coupe Sticker or Under?

Rates are up, inventory is up, and discounts are happening again across most of the automotive spectrum.

So, what's fair on a new 24 CLE 53 Coupe? The 25's are also right around the corner as well.

I understand each region is different but the days of addendums, full MSRP have/are coming to an end.

Things are getting tight. Higher rates and inflation have slowed down the consumer. Nevertheless this car has some hype behind it, the first few will likely go at full. I would personally wait for the 25's.

As things turned out, the order for my wife's car was missing important options e.g. driver assist as the DOG that the SA sent to me wasn't complete and I thought it was standard. I now have to reorder, and my dealer has an open allocation for this month which they will fill for me, but is perilously close to the 25's, which I'm assuming begin production in July. I know the cab's will all be 25's, any idea when they start production? Trying to use this as a guide.

No idea but I would just push the dealer for a 2025 allocation. By the time you get delivery it will be later in 2024.

I reached out to two dealers in NJ. Both are asking for full MSRP on the '24 with an estimated delivery between September-October. Hoping information is released soon for '25 so I can just order that instead.

I'm contemplating whether to place an order for the '24 CLE53 (build date 7/22 with a delivery time frame of early September) or wait for the '25. I really wanted a cirrus silver metallic exterior option but I'll settle for the alpine grey. All dealers told me full MSRP for the '24.

Bringing this back up as there are more buyers/owners now - what are people getting in terms of pricing?

Could have made the same mistake on the MY25 CLE 53 Coupe - ordered yesterday at the dealership.

Downloaded and marked-up the MY25 Dealer Ordering Guide (dated 07/26/2024) cross referencing my build using the MY24 online configurator. Seems that the DA2 Driver Assistant Package is not listed in the subject DOG alongside all the other Packages shown on Page 12.

Just checked the MY24 DOG (dated 02/13/2024) and it too is missing the DA2 feature on the Package listing, also page 12.

Fortunately the sales associate caught the omission. Might have gone differently if I simply emailed the DOG markup.

An aside - my Production Date estimate is 10/29/2024. Delivery here in Silicon Valley likely mid to late December. The Moonlight White Metallic coupe might look pretty good with a large bow and Christmas wreath if it arrives about then.

And yes, will be paying MSRP on this one.

Great your SA caught this, as I missed it and just emailed my dealer's GM with my order this morning, and b/c of this post just sent an update I want it to be included with my order. I was told production starts in Oct as well.

It was on the lot, i doubt an ordered car could get this much of a discount. Worth a try though

Probably the most difficult choice in the build.

The new cross-spoke forged wheels were an available option, they do look stunning on the GT models. Previously commented on the CLE53 Wheel thread while trying to decide pre-order mentioning that the open forged wheels seemed out of place on the CLE .. imo.

Looking at an Alpine Grey CLE on the lot with the black multi-spoke wheels I could easily see them working on the Moonlight White Metallic version as well. Did configure the MY25 car with the Night Package Plus option, the black wheels would complete what my detailer calls the popular "Storm Trooper" look. To my eye though, the black wheels would "disappear" - a term used by others here before me.

Long story short, went with RTM multi-spoke wheels with their machine finished spokes. They nicely highlight the depth of the wheels - again, imo. Mentioned before that the structure vaguely reminds me of vintage Alfa Turbina wheels that were a nightmare to clean. Ceramic coating them (including the barrels) will be on the to-do list when delivered. From experience, it helps considerably.

They do fade a bit but the design doesn't make them disappear in my opinion. They look quite nice in daylight. That being said, I love silver wheels and if I had an option, I may have gone silver.

Here's my car from 2 different lighting angles.

As mentioned, the wheel choice was a very tough call for me - could have gone either way as well.

Back to the original question on pricing. When placing the MY25 CLE 53 order my wife heard the S/A mention that the dealership's allocation for new builds was five units total. Didn't catch it myself as I surely would have followed up with a question or two.

Well established MBZ dealership here in San Jose, I would expect them to receive a generous allocation based on their sales volume. Have to believe I am missing something here. Curious to know RJC if your dealership in Folsom, CA gave you an idea of their allocation.

If the allocation numbers are currently this low - any expectation of sub MSRP pricing on MY25 cars might be questionable.

For mine (a 25) ordered today - Decade 24-10/3, Production date as of this point is 10/28

Dealer is MB Rocklin
Other than my awesome SA, I've been dealing directly with the GM and Internet GSM (both great guys), the GM told me allocations are tight and MB isn't going to build too many of these for '25.
With the stock market falling, economy slowing - which should hopefully temper inflation - prices are coming down whether dealers like it or not. the days of mark-ups and full gross deals are coming to an end/already over.

Attached is my build what do you guys think?
The rear side air bags (great option) shows $700.00 on DOG but shows standard on my build when entered into MB's system. Will find out about that on Monday or Tues when they speak to the MB rep, I'll also get more info to see in my prod date can be bumped up.

My ‘25 order sheet has the rear air bags as standard. I will post it once the corrections are made. The production date is 9/12/2024.

My ‘25 CLE53 will be MSRP, but in reality it’s costing me a nearly six year old G550. I also ordered a ‘24 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter this week, since the G-wagen rekindled my love for off-road adventures. Knowing this, my Mercedes sales associate tried to sell me a used GLC to drive while waiting for my orders to arrive. My wife rolled her eyes so hard she said it gave her a headache. 🤣

Your MY25 build is quite similar to my own.

Went with the Moonlight White Metallic vs your Alpine Grey - struggled between the two as they are both great choices imo. Interior, seats and trim choices are identical. Didn't opt for the AMG Performance Studio Package though I can see it working on your build. Went with the L6K AMG Performance Steering wheel in Napa Leather / Microfiber and somehow the 443 Heated Steering Wheel option popped up along with it - will see.

Aside from the body color the biggest difference is the wheel choice. Looking at additional images online, I believe your choice of the RVS cross-spoke forged wheels in black may be the way to go with the AG body color. To that end - I am rethinking my original choice of the relatively busy RTM Y-Spoke wheels and may submit a change order to go with the RVR cross-spoke wheels in grey. Again, wheel choice being the toughest decision here.

Also see the 293 Rear Side Airbags listed as Standard Accessories. May be a sensible change for the MY25 cars.

Lastly - my Vehicle Information page correctly lists the DA2 Driver Assistance Package and yet breaks down seven of the package's individual component options along with a second listing in Options as P20 Driver Assistance Package. Haven't a clue, I might inquire on this as well.

Production Date estimate of November, Third Decade is repeated on the last page as 10/29/2024. Looks as if you're ahead by one day. Hard to guess when they'll arrive, though based on my limited experience we might have our cars a few days before Christmas.
