C63 Black Series: 2012 Best Drivers Car Review
I have been waiting days for this and as the cars stacked up the anticipation for the Black Series numbers grew for me. So here they are:
Beautiful car and nice track performance but again for me, disappointing for the price tag. The GT500 beat it for god sake.

Stuff like that drives me nuts, are these people even car people. Who writes this and who lets it get past editing. Can't even get the material right (carbon fiber brakes) never mind carbon ceramics are not even an option on the BS. whatever
The driver was good, sounded like he was ready to bust a nut over the thing!
Thanks for sharing

No matter the time done it will do well. I'm betting 3rd or 4th overall.
I believe AMG driver Bernd Schneider, lapped Laguna in 1:36 in the BS. Id like to see what he does
in the other cars too though.

The C63 BS is a very well set up car. If only MB could have removed 300LB from the car. The times it put down is a great time for a 500HP and It being NA will be very consistent in lap times.

Cute, but I am not buying it. You are talking about a 50K mass produced car vs a 110K limited edition track car. HP doesnt mean everything.
The Camaro ZL1 has 50 more HP and lapped slower than the BS at the same curb weight.
The Jaguar has the same HP as the C63 yet got destroyed by it at the same curb weight.
The GT500 has 110 more HP than the GTR yet it got stomped by it at the same curb weight.

Peak horsepower is not nearly as relevant as sustained power through the RPM band. Having power when you need it according to the track configuration is everything.
I am also curious about the 4,000+ listed curb weight for the AMG that I thought was under 3,800?
Without brake modifications the GT500 is a one lap wonder and previous versions were notorious for heat soak issues.
The ZL1 meanwhile is getting a pretty decent reputation as a solid track toy at least according to my circle of contacts.
Of course the GTR still demonstrates the victory of science over physics at the expense of driver involvement.
I personally would prefer to spend the weekend with this old E36 pushing 200 whp than any of the cars mentioned is the article.

You could have at least given some credit, the Black came in second place, ahead of even the mighty GT-R. Now I know, maybe the lap time was slower, I didn't even check. But hey, maybe to some, there's more than just simple dollar per hp per lap time comparisons.
Looking for the GT500, stopped reading backward at 5th place.....apparently it has serious braking issues.
They even called it the best AMG ever...

I wanted to leave some anticipation for others while watching the video!
I predicted 3rd place for the BS above. After reading the article though I knew it would do better than the GTR. Randy seemed to LOVE the Black Series, but really bash the GTR.
