Had an accident ... few questions
Long time lurker. first time poster... Had an accident in my 2011 C63. Its a lease my first ever lease. so i have a few questions. I was making a right turn and the guy infront slammed his brakes on i couldn't stop in time. I got out and my heart dropped. I was in shock at what had just happened. My first accident in 10 years of driving! I was shocked at how easily the headlight cracked. I was stopped and started slowly.
Anyways my question is how does this work its a lease. I will be going through insurance but does Mercedes do the repair or do they outsource it? Also could i get them to put the 2012 Bumper headlights and hood on? Instead of 2011? Will there be an extra charges since it's a lease?

All I'm gonna say is that you're lucky that it's a lease!! No worries about carfax or anything lol! Insurance is gonna take care of everything and you don't have to pay anything (just your deductible).
Also I'm pretty sure that there is no way in hell that they gonna let you facelift a lease car!

Were you driving in those flip flops? Maybe that's the reason for the accident.
Kidding of course. Also, CarFax probably won't show it unless it's reported to the DMV (only major accidents are usually). I can't tell you how many accidents I've been in, with insurance involved (mostly me being rear ended) and I have never seen it on a CarFax.

It works just like buying a car... which means it will go up if you were found at fault. As far as being a lease, as soon as your insurance know, DMV will know which means mister Fox will find out too!

my wife bananas! :D
you must've hit a suv? your bumper looks pretty good still.
since its a lease, no worries on your part. as for the face lifted look, you can always ask. It is highly unlikely but you wont know till you try

your insurance will go up unless you were a 0% fault. I don't see that happening if the driver in front of you had a reason to slam his brakes.

If you rear ended someone, the cop/insurance will put you 100% at fault no matter who is wrong or right. The cop might give you a "follow to close" ticket as well.
On the other hand, your premium might not go up depending on your insurance company, some are very forgiven for the first offence.
As for the repair, it's up to you to have it fix at any bodyshop of your choice. You DO NOT need to deal with MB dealership if you dont want to.
If the bodyshop of your choice is not an approved shop by your insurance, they will send an appraiser to give you an estimate... and your shop will have to fix your car at that cost or else, they will ask you to find another shop or pay the difference.
Good Luck!

Or the shop will have to negotiate with the insurance company for more money. Remember, some states by law afford you the opportunity to take it to the shop of your choice. Don't let the insurance companies fool you into thinking otherwise- and using one of their shops. I found from personal experience that these shops that insurance companies are in bed with don't provide quality work.

Deal with a shop you trust, and you will feel better at the end.
