Anyone running an Sprintbooster?

Pure garbage. Not a stitch more power just makes your pedal more sensitive.

i had a sprint booster on my previous cars and went with pedalbox this time around. There is def a big need for either one, there is just so much lag in the throttle IMO. The Pedal box is great because i can custom taylor it my needs with the abundance of settings it provides. i like the sprintbooster 2 for its size, i used to drive on red (most aggressive) in my m3 but it was just a tad too much. With the pedal box the red is like a toned down sprintbooster in red but you can go three clicks higher making it just as sensitive as the sprintbooster in red setting. I personally drive my c63 in red wihtout any clicks up or down, with sport mode and its just right.
For the ppl that say its crap and just get a tune, wont make you faster etc, your missing the whole point. This device makes daily driving more enjoyable, and thats what matters in the end.

I gave this product some thought, but feel that it detaches you from the vehicle. I like to feel that when the pedal is floored, the car is actually at it's max throttle. With the sprintbooster, you will hit full throttle before the pedal is even floored.

While you do hit max throttle sooner, you still have to apply linear force to the peddle. Also there are many levels of adjustment so your in control of how much sensitivity you want. You shouldn't knock it unless you try it.

Don't get me wrong. I am NOT knocking this product. I was seriously considering this product before I got my tune. I'm just stating that I feel I would be detached from the car because you would lose the mechanical feel; if that at all makes sense. I have no doubt the sprintbooster makes driving incredibly fun on a day to day basis. The OP simply asked for our thoughts. And that's what I did. Whether he buys it or not, I don't care.

Look. You can sell me a kit that makes my stereo hit full volume at 7 instead of 10, but it doesnt make it any louder. If you feel there is throttle lag it will still be there, and when you get used to only using 7/10ths of the pedal travel you'll be right back where you started. Go over to the w204 forum or one of the BMW forums and you'll see for yourself what 6 month owners say.
Want to get rid of 'lag'? Take that $300 and give yourself a good head start on a tune. You'll get up out of the hole a LOT faster, and have crisper shifting to boot.
You can spend $50 on a Spanx undershirt, but no matter how good you look there will be a fat guy underneath.

The idea of the Sprintbooster is to take the lag out of initial acceleration inputs. (the delay) This delay is evident in the C63 in C mode however the C63 has the luxury of eliminating the necessity for the Sprintbooster by simply switching into S mode where lag is eliminated.
I believe the Sprintbooster is a useful enhancement for the E55 and W211 E63s and some other older AMG vehicles. With the C63 I wouldn’t bother. Just put it into S or M mode when required and C mode when you are behaving yourself.

I have it on my C. it's the old version one though with no adjustments. Honestly I like it. Poor-man's tune that does some improvements on the throttle response. Can't complain.

There's still a lag in S and I have a Kleemann tune. Tune doesn't take away the lag. I wish someone in my area has one so I can try before I buy.

If you want to know what it feels like, just floor it at every light. That's pretty much what it's like driving a sprintboosted car for the first time.

I've had one on my W211 for...I guess about four years now. I just took it out this morning, as I'm trading the car in. So my commute to work today was the first time I've driven sans booster in 4 years.
I consider it essential. I can't recommend it enough. While it is true that it has no impact on actual mechanical capability, it not only improves the feel, but I also think it would improve track times by the nature of making it much easier to launch to car properly or to downshift with your throttle. One thing I noticed today was how the car holds onto terrible gear choices through corners or on a highway on-ramp. To get the car to pop down into a more suitable gear, I have to bury my foot pretty deep, running the risk of a full-on wide-open throttle floor-it, which I'm not looking for. With the sprintbooster, I was used to just giving it a nice centimeter stab or so and getting a smooth downshift. The same goes for simple passing on the highway when you don't want the drama (not to mention likely wheelspin and traction-control activation) of flooring it. And from a light, you really got a hard snap out of the car by just laying on a cm or so of throttle.. and not a full pedal depression. Over all it has improved the car substantially. I'd liken it to a short-shift linkage kit I put in a manual 911TT I owned a few years ago. Actually, it's even better. If your only intention is run your car on a dynamometer and see how high you can make the graphs then yes, it is true the sprintbooster would be useless. If you plan to use the car on actual pavement at any point, however, I'd dare call it essential. (essential like wine... not essential like oxygen).
So.. anyone know if this sprintbooster I just removed is the same part number for a W218 2012 CLS63???

I had a SprintBooster on a 2008 E350, not an AMG. It made a world of difference in the drivability of that car. The car would actually start moving when you started pushing on the gas pedal.
When we sold that car I also got one for my wife's new 2012 E550 Coupe. The SprintBooster helps in that car, though not as dramatically as in the 2008.
I haven't found any need for one on my current 2010 C63. The throttle on this car seems fine to me.

2004 E55, EC Tune & EC S/C pulley installed. I just got the Sprintbooster and wow! The cars responsiveness at stoplight to stoplight is awesome. Even tho I had mods, the drive by wire throttle pedal sux. Now it feels like a go cart and not heavy during short pulls. A must, with or without mods!!!
