Hey All,

Just bought my first Benz, 2013 Obsidian Black C63 AMG/black nappa/black 19"s w/ P30.

Will take delivery in two weeks, prior to that I am meeting with the dealer next week to check out the car/have a chat and I assume they will show me how the thing works (can't be too complicated right; stop, go?).

I've combed through the forums for info and have just decided to lump some queries into my first post (hopefully be better prepared for meeting with the dealer).

1. I'm from Perth, Australia.

2. I'm a track enthusiast, by no means a racer. Car will be mostly used for normal street use.

3. Having only tracked Audi's, my experience with RWD cars in spirited driving situations is limited. I know my BMW Z4 is twitchy and fishtails if I try to power out of a corner. Unfortunately I could not package LSD into the deal but have read mixed reviews about how the ESP performs in comparison.

a) Would love some info about how the stability program actually works and what I can expect in various driving modes

b) MB Australia wanted 15k to retrofit their LSD to my car (why doesn't it come standard, the car already costs a billion dollars? ). Does anyone in Australia know what kind of costs I can expect for getting Wavetrac or similar installed (parts and labour). Any specialist mechanics here for that sort of job? Any risks in doing this? Also what will this do to my warranty/insurance?

c) Would really appreciate someone posting details of cornering etc before and after installing LSD. Ideally I'd like to execute some nice cornering/drifts without dying

4. I'm reading mixed reviews about how often I will need to change tyres? Is the standard camber/tyre pressure etc. the best set up for normal driving...

5. I would be interested in learning about options to mod the exterior of the car, is there a place in Australia that specialises in work on the C63? I'm most interested in getting a wider kit (ie to look more like the BS) and the CF rear diffuser. Again, anyone in oz done this? Do not want problems with warranty/insurance.

6. Assume operator manual explains syncing mobile - any issues with iPhone's/HTC?

7. Anything else I need to be aware of...?

8. Finally, do we have any car clubs here in Perth? Might be nice to go for some cruises through the tunnel

Appreciate all the comments and advice about what to watch out for, how to wear in and any misc tips. Cheers in advance guys.

Hi there fellow Aussie

I have a wavetrak that I brought from vivid it cost me a 1000 and then 1800 to fit it

Note I'm located in Melbourne so it might be cheaper in Perth

The difference was night and day why these cars don't come out with a LSD is besides me

It is one of the best mods possible

Insane labor prices - that's almost double the price of the LSD itself

It's a joke how much they charge u to put **** on

If it was a local car like a ford or Holden they would charge u 500 but because its a merc it's triple

That's why Australia is one of the most expensives places in the world they are just a rip

As for warranty the wavetec comes with a life time warranty

My warranty on my 2010 has just ended in April so for me it doesn't matter and insurance hmmm what they don't know don't hurt
