Positive review of my CPO 2010 C63 after a few thousand miles
I've noticed a couple posts recently that not enough people comment with good reviews. I for one would like to post mine. I'm coming from most recently a 2008 BMW M6 Convertible. I owned it for a year and for some reason never bonded...could be the weight, feel, not sure. It was fast but low torque and too quiet.
I've had 20 cars in the last 14 years. The C63 most reminds me of my W210 E63 which I loved (though with 100 more horsepower over that one).
Things I love about the C63:
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde personality. I can drive non-car friends around and other than the seats and a firm ride, it feels like a Mercedes should. I can drive car friends around and terrify the hell out of them if needed.
The power is intoxicating. I test drove the M3 prior and, while a great car with a race V8 engine, knew that for the street the C63 is a better fit for me. I love that I can floor the C63 from a stoplight, get up to speed quickly, and have fun doing it. I don't have to drive at arrest me speeds to enjoy it. I have the standard 450hp version and due to warranty, won't add a tune.
Handling is good for spirited driving. With the sport mode traction on, I can set the tail adrift slightly without fear of the back end swinging around. I'm slowly learning a bit about the limits and treading lightly into traction fully off and dabbling with very light drifting. M3 handles better no doubt, but I honestly don't care. This is a street car for me.
The bad:
The gas mileage is horrendous, though so was the M6. There was a rattle from the pop up command unit and the rear pop up sunscreen. I had both repaired under warranty and am good to go now.
Speaking of warranty, I have the extended warranty on top of CPO until 135k so I can drive it forever with a warranty or sell it and get the warranty refund. As long as I have a loaner and the car isn't in the shop every month, I should be fine with it.
It is one of my favorite cars to date and I think I made a wise decision.

Great review.
I agree with you on most points. As most people I'm sure, I was also looking at M3's when I picked mine up and I found the C63 to offer a much more compelling package for street driving.
While I agree with you that the power is intoxicating, I think it's the sound that did it for me. One of the best sounding production cars out there imo.
Just an all around great car, definitely one of my favorite cars as well.

my wife bananas! :D
nice review and I agree with most of what you said. for gas mileage, it can actually be decent too if you feather the pedal... but then again, why would you do that?! lolz
sweet car and colour. ob black right? got the same setup as well... now all you need to do is put some CF bits on it (diffuser and spoiler) lolz

I have tint planned but honestly that's about it. I may play with a little plastidip on wheels and emblems at some point. Since it is a CPO it came with brand new tires, so hard to just replace those yet.

Spot on review IMO. Especially the dual personality (SWMBO calls mine 'The Thing' as it appears to change hugely depending on the mood you're in

I'd have to agree on you on your purchase. I also bought a 2010 C63 CPO and have no regrets. I'm enjoying the balance this car offers with being between comfort and sporty . The sound from the factory exhaust is just intoxicating!
