16" or 17" AMG wheels that will fit our cars / brakes in the rear??
Like the title says, I'd like to get some different wheels to utilize slicks on our 2012 C63 for the drag strip.

Im not expert, but doing from what I have read previously on this forum you cannot get 16s to fit with the standard brakes.
From what I remember Dads had put the C300 brakes on to fit 16s. With the standard brakes you can put 17s, Dads was running Forgeline SP3s.
I would also consider some lightweight rotors to reduce unsprung weight if you try to get the most out of the car. From what I remember you can save 8lbs per corner by changing the 2 piece performance pack rotors out, and 12lbs from the standard non-performance pack rotors.
Again I am no expert but just doing on what I have read in the past.
Wait for Dads or Dodger to chime in.

Forgeline make great wheels, just call them up and have 'em make you a set of 17".

I purchased Dad's forgeline wheels and at 17" they clear the brakes fine, ran the hoosier 275/40/17, worked great. Then sold the wheels, when I sold the car. 16" won't clear stock brakes.

If I remember the specs correctly I picked up 17" TSW Nurburgring RF 17x8, 5x112 bolt pattern, 45mm offset running 275/40R17 M/T ET Street Radials. If you were closer I'd offer to sell as the wife isn't too thrilled about me using them after breaking the driveshaft on the third pass with them lol but Summit Racing has good prices (that's who I got mine from). Here's a few pics installed.

Can't believe it broke either, but fortunately they fixed it under warranty
Actually I wish I was using launch control (Race Start) because that slips the clutch off the line. I simply floored it with the traction control off which on the newer MCT cars rev up to around 3500rpm and dumps the clutch.

Former Vendor of MBWorld
OUCH !!!
At least they changed the drive shaft under warranty
i would not of thought they would do that ....Since you were dragging the car. i would technically think that they wouldnt warranty the drive shaft

Bringing this old thread back to life, but was wanting to confirm the size of the rim off-set before I order. Anybody run either one or perhaps both of these items?? Wheels are from post #7
