Worth it?
I am looking to buy a C63 soon or eventually and i was wondering if the AMG Dev Package is worth getting or no? Besides the 480 something HP and all the other stuff is it worth it?

A factory 481hp (its a bit understated) with better internals - bigger brakes - CF Spoiler (not everyone likes it) - Seude on the steering wheel - Raised top speed (matter of tune) - all with warranty.
For me it was a must have, since I was not gonna have the car tuned. And liked the P31 accents.

Yea i was considering getting it cause it just looks amazing. And dont know if id keep it stock or not unless there are parts that still cover the warranty.
The only thing that got me asking was because of the 6.5k bump for it.

it does NOT get bigger brakes. it gets red calipers and 2 piece front rotors.
And this is the p31 package that is available on late year 2010 models and on. There is an older P30 package that does not have the carbon bits and extra power.
I would rather find a P30 package and get a tune rather than pay extra for the P31 to be honest. And I'm not sure if in the US the P30 comes with an LSD or not. I remember reading that the P31s do not have the LSD standard.

its similar to the Carrera vs Carrera S rationalization. necessary? no. nice to have? yes. neither one is a race car, but the S is "sportier"
i paid for it because i love the look of red calipers on a silver car. i also enjoy the increased power. the alcantary sections of the steering wheel are immaterial for me, and i don't care about the carbon fiber spoiler.

It all depends on how you intend to use the car. After going through the tuning process I can see that a non P31 car can be made very similar (if not better) in all respects for roughly the equivalent money.
I own a P31 and this is my opinion
Red Brake Callipers: Very nice and get a lot of attention. Would cost $600+ to paint in a shop
2 piece rotors/ composite pads: Less rotational mass is better. The car does stop better and the brakes dont fade as quickly. Nice peice of mind to have. Nonetheless Rotors and Pads can be bought
Forged Internals: Piece of mind. I think weistec has a upgrade
More HP: Tune will get you more than P31 and I tuned my P31 to get better throttle response.
LDS: Better power deliver and all weather traction. Definitely worth it. Can put an aftermarket solution on for a few thousand.
All and all I think the P31 is good value for what you get. If you feel that you wouldn't want one of the options then obviously it becomes uneconomical.
