BMW M4 Concept - Real Video and Pics
Here’s a fresh batch of photos of the stunning new BMW Concept M4, taken at its unveiling yesterday at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Though still a concept, the car provides a clear indication as to how the new M4 sports car, the successor to the M3 Coupe, will look like when it hits showrooms next spring.
What we know about the Concept M4 is that it features a new color called Aurum Dust, which will be an exclusive option on the upcoming M4. The car also features carbon fiber reinforced plastic for its the front splitter, roof, rear diffuser and exhaust tips, as well as aerodynamic aids such as the air curtain up front, streamlined side mirror caps and the aforementioned rear diffuser. A subtle trunk lid spoiler is also featured.
Sadly, no details about the M4’s powertrain have been revealed yet, though in the video above we get to hear it rev a little. The engine is likely to be a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six, delivering between 400 and 450 horsepower to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M-DCT dual-clutch transmission and limited-slip differential.
Look for the M4 in production trim to appear next to a similarly-styled M3 sedan at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show in January. And for the rest of our Pebble Beach coverage, click here.

Horrendous color. Not really a big fan of all the creases around the vents, looks like failed origami. Also not so sure about the hard line just below the belt line that cuts across the rounded, flared fender. Seems to me that BMW couldn't make up their mind on a design or were afraid of it being too "jelly bean" so they threw on a couple sharp lines. Just my opinion, but of course there is a reason I have a 507 ordered and not an M3 (or 4).

a bit "boy racer"
my E46 M3 was a great car with timeless lines. the new crop of BMW's have shifted towards the contemporary design language seen on Japanese cars — IMO the new F10 3-series front end would look at home on the new Infinity G50.

Still don't like the front grill and headlight design and how they connected those together. Looks pretty aggressive but I feel like the E9X M3 mirrors look better than these ones. Oh and the engine too, gonna miss the V8

I'm usually notice the car hiding behind the beautiful scantily clad woman first. In fact, I usually make a game out of identifying what kind of car it is that the temptress is covering as often as I can...
But in this case:
1) I first saw the she-hulk in the corner and thought how do I get tickets to that gun show.
2) Then I thought WTF?? when i saw the floating florescent nose of an M1-ish looking vehicle hiding behind the m4...
THEN I started looking at the new bimmer.
Should I worry about what that says about me, or the car?
I do think at least it adds a bit of spice to the jelly bean of the 4 series...

Yes please. The detail down to the side mirrors is awesome.
Speculation it has a twin turbo I-6? BRING BACK THE N54!!!!!
On the other hand, could you imagine if this thing had the f10 m5 motor? I'd sell everything I own except for boxers to afford it.

The car is aggressive enough to convince me to come back to BMW. But again this is just a concept car. Therefore the actual M4 will never look that good IMO
3.0L TT as an engine..really...?

I'm willing to bet that will be the production car.
And have you ever driven a 3.0TT? If you were in NY I'd let you drive my 135i and then you could decide. It is quicker than my c63.

I really think BMW's design team has the Mercedes' design team's beat. Maybe it's because I'm not use to Mercedes' future designs yet, but I have to admit that BMW's cars are much more easier on the eyes.
Overall, great design on the 4-series, but I definitely don't agree with the name change.

Because you dont have headers, intake, tune and high octane in the c63 otherwise itd be the other way around but the n54 is a strong little motor with some bolt ons. My bro in law had one for a while and its got great midrange pull but when it came to top end it fell off a bit. I dont doubt this will be similar but different than the n54 you can probably expect more compression, bigger turbos, better flowing heads and hopefully higher redline. Should be sick
