New 507 here!!! Three month wait, WORTH IT
Guys-
My 507 has finally landed. My sales advisor has been very cool and patient the entire time. As, a matter of fact he notified me when the truck was coming and I was there to receive. I unloaded it, unpacked all the shipping materials, and walked it through ready-make. It was an unbelievable experience. Here are some shots:
After taking the delivery shots, I decided to loose the "acceleration" lines. I know many of you have expressed disdain over them and wished that there was a factory delete option. Unfortunately there wasn't, which I was a fan of and on board with. I did NOT want those decals. I wasn't sure how I was going to get rid of them, but the solution turned out fairly easy. I got to them before they prepped the car so that they could eliminate any residue left by those decals. I figured that he longer on the car, the more of a chance of seeing them, even as a ghost pattern. It was pretty straight forward.
FINISHED PRODUCT:
Next post, the 507 clean, prepped, and in my hands..........as I wanted it!!!

So car came with the stickers on. I thought you had them removed from factory.
Nice job taking delivery yourself

Looks great! - I asked about a factory delete on the stickers on mine, they couldn't do it - I think your car looks better with them off - good idea - I am not sure on mine - for now they are still on.

Meng, CF diffuser, lip, and other little bits are already coming. I am so happy. The ISF would have been nice, but this thing is......................SICK
Yeah, I too asked about sticker delete from the factory and told that there was no option. I knew that I was going to take matters into my own hands and couldn't let them remain. I wanted to get them off before prep, that way there would be no chance of any kind of residue or leftover "ghost" marks from where they were.
Exactly. It looks so clean and so sleek without those "acceleration lines". I tried from the factory to delete, but took matters into my own hands.

The entire dealership thought I was crazy. That is until they saw the vehicle after prep!!! Most of the guys had changed their tune and told me what a clean, badass car I had.
And, yes I do!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice car I know you will love it. It is your car and the decal isn't everyone's taste. If it isn't your taste remove it and do what you want. I know when I told the dealer i was going to de-badge all the chrome from my 2012 Ram 1500 Laramie (mono-tone deep molten red) he cringed and tried to tell me how it would negatively effect my resale. I laughed and reminded him that I could purchase all new emblems for like a hundred bucks; not that i have or will. Same applies to decals it's easily replaced should YOU choose.

LOL, some funny stories here!!
Jordan u got some ***** to do it right off the bat at the dealership. Props for keeping it clean. Lol
I would have rocked them for a bit but yeah, they would need to go in no time. I used to have a 1990 Toyota Celica with decals/pinstripe from the dealership & it bothered me very much.

The 507 looks great. Glad to know the acceleration lines are easy to remove. It's the only thing I disliked about the 507s.
Big congrats on the new AMG

Your car looks awesome, and so much better without out the lines!
What did the odometer have on it after getting it right off the truck? That's great way to do it; deprives sales people from redlining the brand new engine.

Nice ride! I may be the odd one out here but I actually like the stripes other than the part on the rear bumper. But it does look clean with out it.
In fact I like it so much, I'm working on creating that design using Plasti dip so that I can try it for cheap or remove it later.

Again, coming from you guys....I consider it a HUGE compliment!!!!
Let me tell you. When building the car, the "acceleration lines" were the only, and I mean only thing that I did not like about the car. And yes, it did take some serious ***** to do it there at the dealership, right off the truck. I had a group of guys gathering around me just wondering what in the hell I was doing. I told them I didn't want them and they were bewildered. Also, they were clueless as to how to do it and how I was doing it so easily. I know many would have rocked them for a little while, but I did not want the outline or residue to set in. I figured pulling them off ASAP would be the cleanest way. The make-ready guys thought I was CRAZY!! And to do it at the dealership, right off the truck..........***** of steel. I didn't want them, and so they went.
I was not concerned whether people would identify it as a 507 or not. I don't care. The car is for me, not anyone else. I know what I have!!!!!!
HELL NO!!!! I used them for many vehicles, not to bash them, but they dropped the ball and sale big-time on getting me a 507.
Thanks!! When the CF lip, CF diffuser, and CF airbox go on, this car is set.
Well, if the "acceleration lines" were the only thing holding you back, take a look at both my posts. They were soooooooo easy to pull off. But yeah, it is almost a joke how MB decided to slap them on. I do, however, believe the key is to remove them immediately. Once the sun hits and they get marred with dirt and grime, it might be another issue. I didn't want them from the get go, so off they came. Thanks for all the positive support.
My 507 had 5 miles on it off the truck and 6 miles on it when I got behind the wheel and took delivery. As you can tell by my 2 posts, I was there every step of the way.
Amen brother. They should have come without those lines, or as in my case, that is the way it should be done. Take matters into your own hands and handle the car the way "you" want it. I had no problem taking those decals off right in front of everyone.
Thanks to everyone for the huge support!!!!!

Just to make sure...all you did was use your fingers to peel them off? No need for a heat gun or adhesive remover? Now that you've had it for a couple days, can you see any residual or markings from where the stripes were?
