New C63 owner with a few questions
Hey guys,
I just picked up a used 2009 black/black C63 with 96k miles. I bought it at auction through a dealer and noticed that it has a few mods which I like but I can't tell if it is tuned or just extremely fast anyways. I looked at it on a lift and from what I can tell it has long-tube headers and h&r coils. Is there an obvious way to tell if it has been tuned aside from taking it to a dyno?
I'm coming from a 2012 Audi S4 which I modded for 2 years before moving up to the C63. I absolutely loved the S4 but the C63 is a beast and I'm planning to mod it as well. Is there anything besides a tune, exhaust, and intake that will add power without getting a full blown supercharger? It's already very loud so I'm trying to stay away from a full exhaust in addition to the headers. Thanks

If it has long tube headers, then it will have to have a tune to run correctly. Tune and long tube headers will generally add about 90-100 whp over stock depending on supporting mods such as secondary cats delete.
The car looks very nice and clean for 96K. Previous owner must have really taken care of it and been an enthusiast if they had a tune and headers.

Good headers are a good thing. They are properly welded and fit without rubbing against the engine compartment or under carriage. Bad headers crack and rub. All headers are a PIA to install. (Bad headers are even worse). You loose both your primary and secondary cats a good thing for performance. A bad thing for your warranty and if you have state smog tests, you will not pass. They are loud so consider how much noise your willing to put up with.
