higher octane gas in WLA

anyone know where we can get pump gas higher than 91 octane in the west LA area? I know they sell 105 (?) octane at the 76 on barrington and pico, but I was looking for something more like 94 octane, mostly for price reasons.

I am curious also, but don't think anywhere in LA will have anything less than race fuel 100 octane or more than premium 91.

That station on barrington is expensive compared to others.

Almost everywhere I go in Louisiana (LA) has 93. And there are plenty of places to get race fuel if you do a little searching. Not sure I've ever been to the town you mention, but there are a lot of little towns I've never heard of in LA (Louisiana).

I was referring to West Los Angeles, California, but dang, sounds like it's time to move to Louisiana.

Likely any Marina will have 93, bonus, no ethanol content Downside, Marina's tend to charge $5+ per gallon (I have seen it as high as $9 per gallon), as well as you will have to supply containers as it might be difficult to get your car in there. Pumps are located in places to refuel boats in the water, not cars.

Simple solution: Use an online octane calculator to mix the 105 & 91 octane to reach your desired number.

You don't want to do that.
BTW, I get 93 ethanol free. But I'd still rather be in L.A. over LA if given the option. Good luck.

You can check this site out. It's for finding ethanol free gas, but it usually lists the octane available.

Why not tune your car for E85? Not sure how much mods are needed to run E85 though. For Evo & Sti owners, they just need upgraded injectors and fuel pump?

Cost of E85 is also alot cheaper than higher octane. ~$4 a gallon.

E85 is equivalent to roughly 105 Octane?

What's not to like about Louisiana?! It's got good gumbos, muffuletta, etouffee, jambalaya, beignets, on and on for cheap...and it has one of the lowest real estate taxes in the Union to boot.

By the way, good site for ethanol free gas.

Not to hijack the thread. But i didn't say Louisiana doesn't have some good things going for it. Pros and cons for both actually. I lived in both for years so I just say I'd pick L.A. for the variety of options available. And not get into anything more than that.

thought about doing that but it would be a PITA to have to go to that one station every time bc they're the only ones that sell the 100ish octane. I know, first world problems.

thanks, that site is pretty cool. I didn't see any stations for the LA area though.

Sorry. Just pulling on your leg, that's all. Yes, every place has its pro's and con's. Oh, another thing to add to LA--that's the home of the Duck Dynasty.

nice, thanks for the info. I may just go the octane booster route ... that website still shows the closest station at about 40 miles away. btw, I am asking about this bc I want to use the higher octane on a regular basis, not just for tracking the car.
