2013 C63 Front Seat Side Bolsters Tight
I just bought a 2013 AMG C63 Sedan and love the car! The only issue I have is that the side bolsters on the front seats dont open wide enough to be comfortable for daily driving. I am of average build and have not had this problem in any other car. There is plenty of room for the side bolsters to open further, but neither front seat opens far enough. Has anyone found a solution or mod to make them open further.

They should be adjustable on the sides. Little buttons

If they are adjusted to the max, and it's still umcomfortable. I would suggest getting aftermarket seats like Recaro or similar (try them first though). Or swap with a non AMG seats.

^Highly doubt it. Aftermarket seats are now the option for you.

All I know is I have 3 adjusters on the side of the seat that adjust the seat. The other ones are at the door.

Probably less expensive than new seats. I'm pretty skinny/small and they are snug on me so I'm sure an average person isn't too far from being uncomfortable in them.

I'm 6'00" and over 200lbs....I weightlift and am pretty wide (at the lats and chest, not at the waist)...I still don't find my seat snug and I don't have them at their widest setting either.
Maybe OP's seats are messed up? Maybe try sitting in another C63 at the dealer and see if you have the same issue?

Maybe we all have a different definition of snug. In my RS4 I can't even feel the bolsters.
- Now that I'm trying to think about it... I don't remember if my chest/shoulders are even around the bolsters? Damn, it's been a while since I've been in my C. Silly NY snow.

Is it really that uncomfortable? Honestly, I like the seats to be a little tight and snug. I like to aggressively drive... snug fit keeps it from letting me slide around. Came from other cars which made me slide around on the leather when I did a hard turn lol.

Snug fit is good. But OP says it is uncomfortable. Honestly the average sized American is overweight according to CDC, and after letting some of my friends and family drive my C63, it is obvious that it wasn't made for larger folks.
That being said, I think it is fairly straight forward to swap out the seats as someone suggested.

I feel for you. I also found the sedan fronts to be very uncomfortable (especially in the neck area). It's why I got the coupe instead of the sedan.
Changing the seats (even to something aftermarket and non-adjustable) is NOT an option in these cars unless you're willing to completely defeat the airbags and/or chance accidental airbag deployment.

To the OP: check the 3 way switch is actually working. These adjustable lumbar support/side bolsters have been known to go bad and it could be that yours has become stuck on a "narrow" setting.

Are the coupe seat bolsters adjustable? I bought a coupe and waiting to pick it up.
I've tested the coupe and sedan, but it was a year or so ago and I don't remember the difference. I would like to fit snugly/comfortable.

I am around 240 lbs and 6'1", and while I didn't have an issue with the width of the sedan seats, I had a problem because of my height. The sedan seats have an integrated, padded non-adjustable headrest, and the headrest padding was pushing on my vertebra prominens which made it very uncomfortable. In terms of tightness/snugness, I don't recall there being much of a difference between the two, but then again I was probably paying much more attention to the "problem area" (my neck).

2013 AMG C63
Looking closely at the side bolster adjustment on my 2013 C63 sedan seats, the seat frame sides are fixed, only the side bolster bladders inflate and deflate. So i am looking into what a lot or racers do, have a good upholstery shop remove the seat cover, replace the bladder with custom foam that fits me snug and comfortable, and put seat cover back on. I only need a little more room. Should look stock and be comfortable. Has anyone done this?
