LOL....

Never has a picture summed up my feelings about a post as this one has..

My '09 P30 exceeded my every expecation on what a small super sedan should be. I cant say the same for my old M3

And im pretty confident the next C63 will be even better.

While I understand Turbo's are obviously the way to go for fuel savings and cutting down engine displacement.

There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING like a boosted V8. Imagine how you feel in those turbo 4 bangers and think about what a big V8 can do.

I do miss the sportiness of the C63 that I had for 4 years.

The V8 biturbo wagon I have now makes me even happier. Sure, the exhaust is a bit muted, but the power more than makes up for it.

If they offered the C63 wagon in North america, I'd be all over it like a dirty shirt.

Thanks for the great video! Nice find. My car as well exceeded all my expectations & i will truly miss it. About to buy a new car soon & leaning a lot towards the 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe. I sure wish I could afford to keep it.

Its been a real treat to have a car thought got so much respect from very knowledgeable people in the car world. Here in Canada, they ran in the $70k range whereas the M3 ran in the $90k range. Helluva bargain. Helluva car at any price tho, really.

I have ADD. For reals. Anything that starts to feel like routine or the mundane just grates away at me until I am miserable. I have never owned a vehicle where I have made it more than 6 months before I am eyeballing what I am going to drive next. 2 1/2 years after buying this car, I have yet to think even for a moment that I am ready to move on. I cannot count the number of days that were made better by driving this car. Days where the world kicked my butt and that drive was the best damn part of my day. Every morning Im happy to get in, and every evening I am sad when its time to park for the night. I have never been so willing to go on a milk run. The torque, the sound...they never get old.

Chris Harris is my favourite automotive journalist by far, because you can see the joy he takes in driving a vehicle. You just know that he 'gets it' and is a real car guy. I take it as a point of pride that he has made at least 6 videos about this car, and holds it in such high esteem that he made a farewell video. That is something you just don't see everyday.

In the not too distant future Ill see my first new model C class, and I'll struggle with it cos it'll look wimpy and bland. Not too long after that, Ill see my first new AMG. I won't be sure about how I feel about its looks for awhile, but it'll make the 204 looked dated and so it will grow on me and I will come to lust after its new technology. But right now, today, I can't think about selling about selling Marshawn* cos we have just had way too many good times and exhilarating moments together. If I think about that, Im not filled with the excitement of a new car, Im just sad I would be losing the old one. Maybe its the car, maybe its being 49, but I am just not ready to move on and I aint even thinking about it.

Like Harris Monkey said - the next car will undoubtedly be a helluva thing. It will have performance, and finishings and gadgets that make ours look like an 87 F150. It may just leave us in the dust, thanks to improved handling and possible AWD.
Regardless (irregardless? flammable? inflammable? whatever) after owning a few dozen vehicles the one vehicle truism that has yet to be proven to me to be false is:

There is NO replacement for displacement. And baby, we've got it big time.

I am gonna rumble that sonuvva***** around the parking lot 360, up and down the boulevard, around the cloverleaf and just SMASH every damn on-ramp I see cos I have 6.2 litres of fury under the hood and whether they are fast or slow, new or vintage, they are gonna hear everyone of them piston strokes and if they are car people, they are gonna wish they were inside. TORQUE IS KING. THE KING IS DEAD. LONG LIVE THE KING.

I'm going outside to wash and vac my car. I'll see you out there.

*A couple of seasons ago I decided to call my car Marshawn. Right after this run, in fact:

Why? Cos they are both black and always in Beast Mode

Go Hawks.

Right there with ya. I'm not saying that that would be the last car I'd ever buy, but I am saying that I would own it til I died, and they could deliver my casket in the back and toss one of the keys in the hole with me.

But no. We gotta live in the land of the frickin SUV.
I knew GM wasn't dead the day they put out the CTS-V wagon. Not that they would sell a lot (they haven't) but cos I knew there were still car guys in that company, not just a bunch of bean counters who wanted us all in Stupid Useless Vehicles. Between that and the new Vette, there's hope for them yet.

In any case, if I ever let my C63 go, I will be teary eyed handing over the keys. I might just try and keep it forever like my first car, my Lexus.

Actually...after seeing these shots of the new M4 droptop, it reminded me of my one and only single gripe about the C63

WHEEL SELECTION...

These cars always needed a little fender flare in the rear to match the fronts and the lack of this prevented any aggressive offset wheels from landing in our shopping carts.

Sure there was always custom fender flares and bodywork, but why do Audi and BMW make it so easy...I mean come on!!!! Look at those rear wheel arches below....we shouldn't have to drop for a BS or custom bodywork to give our cars an amazing stance

That's pretty insane! And that's still really a C63. They did a BODY swap, not a motor swap. But after reading it, people have thrown the BMW S85 V10 into some cars. Maybe it could be similar to that. But the 2JZ has been put into everything from S2000s to RX-7s and there are so many more of them.

On another note, I too love the wagon. And though I would never buy one, I am sad Audi won't be bringing any more S/A4 wagons over. They are handsome cars.

I test drove a GT-R yesterday and so impressed by the way it drove and felt...I even put a deposit on it. But watching this video was great and reminded me of why I loved this car so much and it reminded me of all the things a GT-R is not, in spite of it's incredible performance.

That said, I hope to be back in a C63 as soon as I find the right one.

Probably the best engine ever made from the Germans to combat with the north american V8,. pitty to see this go, and if I had a C63, I would be holding on to it a little longer.....yes when they replaced the S, E and CLS 6.2 V8 with the 5.5 biturbo, while it is a more potent motor and more fuel efficient, it in no way compares to the normally aspirated V8 in sense of sounds, thrills and stiring the soul...not just my oprinion but probably 99% of my fellow AMG Driving Academy friends/participants...rest in peace 6.2, you made all my dreams come true
